[The train issue was never something that he discussed with the former employer]

[ killing himself, or arthur, is really not something that gives eames pause. he's done this before.

there's a pause while he considers it, and then eames takes out his pocketwatch. i'd need a few hours, zatanna had said. this far down though... ]

I suppose asking you if you could feel your body up above would be foolish.

[He manages not to roll his eyes but it's a near thing.]

It's a good thing I can turn off my militarization.

[Now the knocking is pounding. The kid on the bed is hiding his head under a pillow]

I'd have welcomed well-dressed men shooting at me.

[ which says a lot about how eames feels about the current situation. the angling of his body between the door and the other two occupants of the room is subtle, but there. ]

I'll keep that in mind.

[Arthur frowns a little]

[ too much. enough. enough to call arthur thomas and know it wasn't simply an alias. ]

[ eames expects it will. there's no real way to reconcile it. ]

Zatanna is waiting for us up above.

[There's a pause]

She must be worried.

[ it had been an unpleasant thing, telling zatanna what had happened. ]

She's healing your body. I came down to bring you back to it.

And we still don't know how.

[ eames falls silent. he has been careful to remain in the middle of the room, not to venture forwards nor back. now though, he relaxes just slightly, taking a step to the side. ]

Do you think we could make one? A kick large enough blast everyone out?

[Arthur thinks about it]

Somewhere there's going to be a room with enough C4 to try.

[ eames looks at the boy on the bed before responding. ]

Then we should get moving.

[The boy on the bed looks at Eames and moves, holding onto Eames' hand. Arthur looks away, because this is embarrassing, before he speaks.]

Come on. Through the window.

[ eames doesn't know what to do with this. but he's really not going to stop and think about it now.

this is business. which is why he heads out the window without a single remark, for once. ]

[The boy watches them leave. The apartment is on the second floor but there's a convenient tree - one Arthur's scaled more than once as a boy. Once they get to the bottom, he starts walking]

I put in a supply center nearby.

[ truth be told, eames is rather excited. he hasn't built a bomb in ages either. this whole exercise has been full of nostalgia. ]

[The projections are passing by, not watching. They're blending, even here, in the depths of Arthur's subconscious.]

[ because that is an option. although eames will take sloppy. arthur uses the word too liberally anyway. ]

[Arthur opens the door to a room full of bomb building equipment. It all looks well-maintained, but clearly military]

If you ever do anything like that, Eames, I'll come down and collapse the dreams until you come to your senses.

Never fear, darling. I'm too fond of reality to pull such a stunt.

[ and with that eames gets to work. oh wiring bombs. eames does love it. ]

[He's got practiced hands, Arthur does. He builds with that kind of confidence]

At least someone in this business is.
