[ he searches the room. all the knowledge he's gleaned from yusuf comes in handy, and he notes the chemicals on hand, as well as the instruments and equipment at use.

predictably, the questionability of the lab doesn't bother him. eames has seen far worse in his line of work.

and then he finds olivia.

at first, he isn't sure whether or not he should disturb her. or if disturbing here would bring down a flood of projections to rip him apart. or perhaps it'll simply trigger a scene change. which is why he ignores common sense and does try to rouse her. ]

Olivia. You are Olivia, aren't you?

[ eames' voice filters into olivia's subconscious from somewhere and she hazily replies. her voice is slow, soft, and sounds almost singsong-ish. ]

Oh, I'm here. Yes, I'm Olivia. Who are you?

Someone who knew you. What are you doing in there?

[ he isn't sure whether or not disconnecting her from the wires would be beneficial. this whole operation makes eames skin crawl, but... ]

I'm trying to find John.

[ the wires seem to be connecting in a lot of different ways. he can't tell because of her position but there is a probe stabbed in the back of her neck. ]

How do I get you out?

[ because fuck if eames is going to start pulling things out willy-nilly. ]

I can't yet. I have to find John...

[ if dreaming is being within one's mind, then she's headed in that direction. she's looking for john within her mind... in a dream. (welcome to fringe) ]

[ gosh olivia what are you talking about eames doesn't understaaaaand ]

[ yeah good luck to eames trying to understand the whacked up stuff that happens in this lab coming from someone drugged up and trying to go into their own mind. ]

Or you can let me get you out of this, and we can ring him the moment you're dried off.

[ man this is more up cobb's alley than his. why is this his life right now. ]

[ there's a silence for a bit and then she speaks very quietly and with a bit of sadness. ]

But John is dead. I'm finding his memories in my head.

[ yep. olivia is very used to having alternate memories in her head. ]

[ this is just a clusterfuck no matter which way eames looks at it. ]

Darling, tell me how to get you out of there.

[ welcome to olivia's life, eames. ]

I don't want to go. I want to find John. I have something to say to him before he goes away.

[ why isn't yusuf down here? eames bets he would know what to do. ]

No, his memories. I have some of his memories. I have to find him before they go away.

[ eames is putting up with this insanity so well. ]

[ it says a lot about his life that his natural skills include dealing with things of this nature. ]

There are far better ways to do that than nearly drowning yourself in this foul tank.

[ there's a good bit of silence before olivia speaks again, sounding even further away than before. she gives a faint smile, actually looking peaceful and happy. ]

John. I'm sorry that I doubted you. I should have trusted you.

Olivia. Don't do that. Come back up to me.

[ this is just bad news. and eames isn't sure he has much more time to spend trying to pull her out of whatever it is she's doing. ]

[ eames' voice filters through like leaves on the wind and doesn't reach her. instead she continues talking to the man in her dreamscape after a bit. ]

I love you, too.

[ after that she just silently rests in the tank. her vitals on the screens a bit away are steady, though low. very slowly they start inching back towards normal levels. as she starts the return back to consciousness. ]

That's all well and good, but it doesn't help your situation.

[ but her vitals are rising, and eames takes that as a good sign. ]

[ unfortunately it's a situation that olivia willingly chose for herself. she's the only one that wants to repeatedly put herself in the tank.

but her vitals rise to a point of normalcy and she slowly opens her eyes but doesn't say anything. ]

Are you back?

[ it seems a fair question, as far as eames is concerned. ]

Yes. I finished saying goodbye.

[ with effort she manages to sit up. since she was oriented with her head at the door he'll be able to notice the device (http://www.fringefiles.com/gallery/albums/episodes/101/normal_fringe101-984.JPG) stuck in the back of her neck for sure. eames will have to help haul her out of the tank for sure, though. she's been drugged up and lying in water for a few hours now. ]

[ eames thought process is basically "the fuck??" but he doesn't comment on it immediately, just offers her his hands. ]

Need help?

[ that's the routine reaction of people who enter the lab. ]

I'm fine.

[ she's not, but she hates not being able to do things herself. she never relies on people, not ever. it's an obvious struggle, but she brings her arms up to the top of the doorway and starts to pull herself out. ]

[ and eames helps pull her out, because damn it he is a gentleman okay. give him a minute, he'll offer her his precious tweed jacket ]
