"What a charming little place!"

Good evening Pie Hole customers and staff. A wanted Nazi warmongerer is standing in your establishment's doorway with a big smile on his face. And now he's walking in, taking a seat, and picking up a menu as casually as anything, as though he was just another patron.

"Hmmm. Difficult, very difficult. Such a tempting selection! It's going to be hard to choose, I can tell."

Ned is already (unsure) about this guy, but a customer is a customer right?

"Yes, hello... We're closing up in not-too-terribly-long from now, but can I get you some coffee - perhaps?"

As he goes to turn away that's when he matches the face; it might also have something to do with the Wanted poster on the Pie Hole's bulletin board. Gulp.

"Coffee? Oh no, no, that won't do at all." The Major smiles the smile of the glutton in the pie shop. "A menu like this demands to be sampled in full. I am afraid I will simply have to order one of everything!" He raises a finger, imperious. "Quickly, if you please. I am quite terribly busy tonight."

"I could get it for you to go?" So subtle. Please leave. Ned wants to faint.

"No, that is not an option. Come now, you can stay open long enough to serve one more patron." The Nazi's glasses gleam under the shop's lights with the promise of terrible things happening to anyone who does not provide prompt and efficient service tonight. "The customer is always right. Isn't that true?"

"O-of course. Choose a seat and I'll be right with you." Oh god flying off to the kitchen now.

The Major folds his hands in front of him and begins to wait in anticipation for his pies, brownies, and various other baked delicacies. What am I forgetting? Ah, yes. We must have a beverage with our dessert. "I will also have that coffee after all, pie maker!" He shouts into the kitchen after Ned.

He jumps at the sound of the major's voice, chirping back, "Coming right up!" He's going to be gone for as long as he can possibly manage.

Patience is not a thing alien to the Major. On the battlefield he is well acquainted with the truth of the maxim that war is long stretches of boredom punctuated by fleeting moments of intense (and to him, sweet) terror. Off the battlefield, he had been willing to wait an entire half century of planning and training and researching before once more unleashing war on the world. But when it comes to pastries...

Only ten minutes after Ned vanishes there is the sound of silverware chiming impatiently against itself. To not even have his coffee by now is unacceptable. "Hello in there! You do remember you have a customer waiting, don't you?"

Just then Ned emerges with a cup in one hand and carafe in the other. Any rattling of said implements is completely imagined. Of all the terrifying things in his life, and this is the way he's going to die. "Terribly sorry, but I had to make a fresh pot. I didn't think you'd want burnt remnant coffee because really, who does..."

"Oh, I see. Very good thinking, then." The Major reaches for the sugar. "All is forgiven! It smells quite good." He doesn't mention that if he had gotten burnt remnant coffee bad things would have ensued, because at this point it would be redundant.

"One of each will take... several trips..." And several text messages to a certain sorceress. "I hope you brought your patience." And with that he's off for the first plates of key lime to your heart, lemon meringue, cherry creme fraishe cherry creme, triple plum and banana creme, apple walnut, appleberry and coconut custard. As worrying as this was, in the mean time he did hold a morbid curiosity to know if this Major fellow could actually eat all of the pie he had ordered in one sitting.

"I brought a great hunger," the Major says. "My stomach is filled with nothing but enthusiasm for your wares. Ah, but this is really good coffee." He drinks deeply from it and smiles. "I think it will tide me over long enough for the main event."

Ned is about to find out what kind of an appetite a guy can have after serving on the Eastern Front. Especially when the guy is the Major and pastries are involved.

Ned already wants to throw up but that might be more out of fear than appreciation for the Major's appetite. "I'm glad you're enjoying yourself." He plasters on a fake smile and starts backwards towards the kitchen. It's too bad that bar is there, ouch :( "That is what the Pie Hole is... all about."

Seeing Ned hurt himself gets a bigger, nastier smile from the Major. "Yes, enjoyment. Entertainment as well as service, I see." He considers making Ned dance or sing or whack himself again for his entertainment, but fortunately for the pie maker food takes precedent. The Major 'mms' appreciatively as he chows down on his pie(s).

"Your wares are really top-notch," he says. "I'm so pleased. In fact, I think I'm going to need the recipe from you. I can't leave flavour like this all in one place."

He just smiles again, a very fake smile at the Major's comment before shaking his head at the man's request.

"Un-unfortunately, it's a secret recipe. And you know what they say about secrets..."

The Major's own smile turns predatory. He puts down his fork. "Please, do not be stubborn. I have a lot of experience with keeping secrets, and acquiring them." He raises a hand as though taking a courtroom oath. "Your recipes will not travel beyond my own mind."

[Shahrazad is sitting at one of the empty tables just sort of staring off into space. That same kind smile is plastered on her face, but her eyes make her appear to be a thousand years old. Someone may want to snap her out of it or else she may end up sitting there all night.]

[Ned's off in his own world, as usual, but Shahrazad usually handled the closing tasks, and after the pie maker caught her look from across the room he was decidedly worried. The Major, RoombaMan!, and now feelings. He never had been particularly adept in these matters.]

Shahrazad? [he manages sheepishly, swallowing as he approached her booth.] Is something wrong?

[Oh dear he knows that look. Carefully and silently he slips into the seat across and clears his throat softly.]

[That takes Shahrazad back a bit. Usually that was enough to end the discussion. She was hard pressed to deny his request though.]

I was thinking... [She glances toward the window.] ... it would be nice to be reborn in this country as a Terran. I also thought it was nice that I was here at all. I'm very grateful to be experiencing everything this country has to offer.... and to no longer be hated or feared by everyone I meet. I especially like that.

The truth is many would view me as an evil "monster" because I need the blood of Terrans to survive. For that I can't really blame them. It must be scary to have something out there that needs a part of you to survive.

I don't think it's evil, Shahrazad. Especially since you can't help yourself. You have as much right to survival as-as us Terrans.

[Shahrazad blinks twice before shaking her head.] My uncle once told me we were all human regardless of our race. Everything that happened before I arrived here...

I suppose a part of me expects for that history to repeat itself; that the difference between us are all people will see.
