SUMMARY: Bucky decided to have a poker game and invite… whoever wanted to show up. THIS MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN VERY SMART.

Bucky wound up solving his food problem by ordering three bags of something or other stacked high with white take-out boxes from the Chinese place his neighbors were always going on about. He also made sure his apartment was spic and span. It was a remarkably tidy space: nothing interesting on the walls, no television, and now a couple orders of cashew chicken placed on a big card table in the center.

He'd bought a few decks of cards from the corner store and unwrapped one of them, flipping the cardstock between his fingers. Yeah, he was ready to play poker.

Ah, then you are from Orin's. [Well that's kind of a leap but whatever, Namor is more or less under the impression that the world revolves around himself and/or other Atlanteans. Like Aquaman!] I have seen many on the Network. [You know, causing all the trouble.]

Yeah, he is. Though he was doing the hero thing for years before he ever joined the team.

Orin? [ Unfortunately, she's not on a first name basis with Aquaman. ]

They're a loud crowd.

[That gets a laugh. Also, she's now helping herself to an extra egg roll.]

How've you been faring so far?

[Kate looks up, smiling in return. She recognizes the voice.]

[Despite the slight sassiness, she has a friendly look on her face. She recognizes Julian, from when the other Julian was in town. That seems like forever ago now.]

A lot of us do the solo thing outside the Avengers.

We've got the Justice League and other teams back home, but in Gotham many of our capes tend to fly solo. So to speak.

Eh, there are worse things than picking up a false tell during a poker game.

They're kind of like their own family, I think. Batman, Robin, Batgirl...

You too. [She eyes the older woman, deciding she approves of this friend of Bucky's.] Won any money yet?

Billy and Teddy's friend. [She nods quickly.] I remember. It's nice to put a face to the name. Or a real person to the communicator, as it were.
