SUMMARY: Bucky decided to have a poker game and invite… whoever wanted to show up. THIS MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN VERY SMART.

Bucky wound up solving his food problem by ordering three bags of something or other stacked high with white take-out boxes from the Chinese place his neighbors were always going on about. He also made sure his apartment was spic and span. It was a remarkably tidy space: nothing interesting on the walls, no television, and now a couple orders of cashew chicken placed on a big card table in the center.

He'd bought a few decks of cards from the corner store and unwrapped one of them, flipping the cardstock between his fingers. Yeah, he was ready to play poker.

[Despite the slight sassiness, she has a friendly look on her face. She recognizes Julian, from when the other Julian was in town. That seems like forever ago now.]

Who wants to know?

[hellionated]

[ He remembers her from the videos around the time Billy and Teddy disappeared. ]

Julian. I thought it was you, I knew your friends when they were here.

[recurve]

Billy and Teddy's friend. [She nods quickly.] I remember. It's nice to put a face to the name. Or a real person to the communicator, as it were.

[hellionated]

Yeah, these things get old fast. Your other team member, Tommy, he still around?

[recurve]

He is, sometimes. [She tries to shrug it off, not look too disappointed.] When he's not getting into trouble on his own, I mean.

[hellionated]

[ He shrugs too. ] Yeah, the team game goes out the window here. Part of the deal I guess.

[recurve]

I ought to be used to it by now. I've been here over a year now.

[hellionated]

[ Eyeing her. ]

Yeah? I didn't think any of them had been around that long. Been by yourself?

[recurve]

Mostly. I was alone when I got here. Then Tommy and Teddy showed up. Then they both left. Then Billy and Teddy showed up. Then they both left. And now Tommy's here, but he's busy running to Timbuktu and back or some such.

[hellionated]

I guess it goes that way sometimes. People told me I’d been here before too. [ He shrugs. ]

How do you know these guys?

[recurve]

You mean Bucky and Big Kate?

[hellionated]

Yeah. [ wait what. ] 'Big Kate'?

[recurve]

[She gestures to the tall redhead.]

Big Kate. Bucky's friend. I know Bucky back home. Except he's older. And he's Captain America.

[hellionated]

[ Julian looks over at Bucky again. Seriously, this guy is the new Captain America? He can't even picture it.

There was a time when he'd have been more impressed by that than he was now. He mostly just finds it weird, like he always does when timelines screw themselves around here. ]

You're kidding. That's who he is? That's a hell of a future, does he know?

[recurve]

Yeah. He kind of forced me to tell him. He wasn't too happy about it either.

[hellionated]

No kidding. Would you want to know? It ain't like he can do anything to change it.

[recurve]

Hell no. And I wouldn't go around making people tell me either. [Not that she was mad at Bucky about it. And he wasn't mad at her. Not anymore, anyway. Water under the bridge.] I think he makes a great Captain America, though.

[hellionated]

I get it. Lot of people here who know me are from my future. I don't want to hear it. Being Ported here is screwing up enough of my timeline, I ain't making it worse.

I don't know a lot about the new Cap. You've worked with him?

[recurve]

Sure have. A few times. [She looks pretty proud of this fact.]
