WHO:
i_seethestrals and YOU
WHERE: A mall in the City.
WHEN: The night before Christmas Eve.
WARNINGS: holiday spirit look out
SUMMARY: Luna goes Christmas shopping at the very last minute... with friends! Or maybe foes, who knows.
FORMAT: Paragraph to start with followed by whatever you want!
Christmas songs are blaring through the speakers, loud and either annoying or effecting, depending on how much tolerance the listener had for such music. Luna was softly singing along as she made her way through the thick and angry crowds, though she wasn't sure of the words.
A shopping bag - heavy with looked like greeting cards - dangled from her hands as she began turning towards the entrance of some kind of sweet shop, curious to see what holiday treats she could find.

And Maggie was looking to get distracted more than even usual, as she was not looking forward to tomorrow, so she had bought herself a ridiculous amount of books, and had just barely enough money left for a snack, so she was turning to go into the sweet shop when she saw one Luna Lovegood heading to the same place.
"Hello, Miss Lovegood."
no subject
"Maggie!" If she didn't stop her, Luna was going to for a hug. "It's so nice to see you. Are you finishing your shopping, too?"
no subject
"Uh, yes." Most of the books were for her, really, although one was a recipe book full of cookie recipes which she'd use to make gifts for her friends. "I just thought I'd get a snack. Are those Christmas cards?"
no subject
To answer the question, she nods enthusiastically, and opens one up. An annoying, festive song starts playing. "They can sing! Without magic! Isn't that brilliant?!"
Then, she adds thoughtfully, "Although a snack sounds wonderful too, now that you mention it."
no subject
As to the snack - "Uh, would you like to join me then?" She waves to a table by a cookie stall where they could sort out their various purchases.
sorry for being late!
She paused for a moment to look through her wallet before turning back to Maggie. "I would love to." Though it might hurt her wallet a bit.
No worries, obviously I'm scarce too

She slung the bag of cards over her shoulder, glancing over at Lyra's much heavier load. "What are you picking up, if I may ask?"
no subject
Selene! Hey!
no subject
Glinda! I didn't expect to see you here! What a wonderful surprise.
no subject
I'm looking for some Christmas movies. What are you here for?
no subject
Oh! I- I'm picking up gifts for my friends. Cards, to be precise.

She's got some very large bags which appear to be full of something very bundled and very soft, and there are a selection of brightly coloured sticks of wrapping paper stuck in the end of one
"Muggle sweets?" she said, when she noticed where Luna was heading for. "Good idea. I'm still not very used to them but I suppose none of them will try and run away when I put them in the stockings."
no subject
"Come on, now, there must be times you enjoy the chase. Still, I suppose you're right, it is nice to indulge in... stationary treats, once in a while." There was a hint of a smirk on her lips. Then, without warning, she reached for Ginny's wrist, intending to lead her towards the door. "Besides! Muggle sweets! I've never had them before -- it'll be like an adventure!"
no subject
This was a problem she didn't mind solving.
"Well I know I don't like the chocolate here, but the rest I've no idea about! At home I'd have given them Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, but I seriously doubt this place has anything vomit-flavoured. More's the pity."
no subject
"You're a fan of vomit? Interesting. It always made me feel a bit ill, but you know, grass always had a very nice natural taste to it... I wonder if that's what the trees taste like?" She mused, pointing to some holiday-shaped treats.
no subject
"I'm not sure trees would taste a lot like grass, in all fairness," she said. "Unless you only mean the leaves, but I imagine the bark would be far less grass-like."
guess who's the latest ever
Looking contemplative, she picked up anoter package of the Red Vines. Would they allow her to do a taste test... ?
"That's true," she mused. "I don't think bark would taste very good, now that you mention it. The smell would be nice, of course, very woodsy but perhaps a bit sour thanks to all the sap. Not to mention hard to chew."

Hope this isn't too late :D
So, after wandering the shops and putting her (somewhat grubby) hands all over all kinds of stuff, she's taking a break with a fancy drink and sitting on a bench, swinging her feet as she 'watches' people go by with a vague expression of frustration on her face.
no such thing! sorry I'M slow!
So she stopped and began looking around. Ignoring the people staring back at her, figuring that naturally anyone who left their mouths wide open couldn't be smart enough to sneakily watch someone (and, also, leaving themselves at terrible risk to invasion by Mouthmouths).
But she spotted Toph and began to walk over, sounding friendly enough, or at least unfazed by that scowl. "Hello. You must not be observing anything interesting, with a scowl like that."
you are sooo not slow
"Having trouble deciding what to get someone special, is all."
<3 thank you!
"That's always difficult. I've never had much success with it, to tell you the truth. I think people find my gifts odd." Though it was a bit late to go back on the greeting cards, now. "How special is this someone?"
no subject
"She's my best friend, and has been since I got here. If it wasn't for her, I don't know what I would've done in this place."
Feet were swung, since they only touched the floor if she tried.
"Why would people think your gifts are odd?"
