Close the City and tell the people
Who: Tony Stark, a skrull body, and YOU! (This is also a mingling type of thing if you wish!)
Where: Avengers Mansion: the basement lab
When: Sunday through idk, whenever?
Warnings: Some sciencings! A dead body! There may be more autopsy-esque things in here!
Summary: Tony got ahold of the Skrull's body. This is all for education!! Also to look at everyone who comes because he monitors everyone :(
Format: Para to start, tag yourself in as you like!
809 Fifth Street. The mansion with the large A on the gates was something of a dead giveaway. They weren't open, but at a new arrival, it was likely they would. The yard itself was silent. The path to the mansion proper was blocked off with a rather familiar suit that looked a lot like Iron Man who would stand there, and point the way to the exterior basement entrance. Once in, a lot of the side projects and other tables have been cleared, and there's essentially just a Skrull's body. Tony's nearby in slacks and a button up, looking over that something that looks like an iPad (but it totally isn't!!!) his fingers tapping against it gently as he moved around the body.
There were cameras above, watching, listening in. He might be focused on the tablet for the moment, but he was pacing, waiting to educate. With the information about the Skrulls compared to what he'd known he'd been doing, he knew that hadn't worked. It had not worked. Futile. He'd thought keeping it secret had kept down the paranoia, would cause fewer problems. It hadn't. Who had been the one who suggested that? Jessica Drew. He was going to try something different, and maybe-- Maybe with all the different superhumans, different powers, things may have a better chance?
So he was going to at least try, and give some of the people a look at it up close if they wished. See who was interested, and who wasn't. And who could help out with any information he gave out. Not that he would give out all of it to anybody, paranoia only stretched so far. Things like Skrull biology, skrull society, he could share that, though. It wasn't exactly common knowledge, but common enough with the superhuman community.

"That depends on if we're talking about your run of the mill shock-troop, or super-skrulls. At their core, they can be just as weak, or just as vulnerable as a human soldier. The problems come in when they're given powers. Then it can vary depending on the power, like with most superhumans."
no subject
"So when they shift, the weaknesses of the person they become is also their weakness? Is that a sure thing?"
no subject
"As far as I know. Tactically, they want to invade in secret, completely replace the people they're after. They take their powers from the original owner."
no subject
He was getting a better understanding of what made the Skrulls such a threat, but at the same time he couldn't help but wonder if there was a way to fight them without making mistakes. But then, that's probably what the Skrulls were hoping for.
"What happens if we're wrong? If we decide someone is a Skrull be it turns out they're not?" He motioned towards the body. "Is killing them the only way to know for sure?"
no subject
That was the absolute last thing they needed, was another Kree-Skrull war. Were the Kree here? He didn't know, and the fact that he didn't was frustrating. A moment, and he wished Reed was here. Even with all of the extra boost his nanovirus gave him, Reed was still smarter.
"The fact that they can look just like us, completely like us, is why they're so dangerous. We have to be vigilant for anything, but we can't jump to every conclusion, either. If we do, it's going to be mass hysteria."
no subject
He smoothed some hair back out of his face and sighed heavily. "The more this drags out, the more paranoid people are going to get about who they can trust. Mass hysteria could hit at any time."
no subject
"Thankfully, the panic isn't what they want. They like to go in clean, hence the infiltration, but it doesn't help us any more than it helps them." He looked away from the body. He'd been looking at it for too long. Staring at it wasn't going to actually solve any problems.
"I don't think we've been formally introduced. Tony Stark."
no subject
He uncrossed his arms and held out a hand, a smile made its way to his lips. "Apollo. Nice to meet you."
no subject
Why? He couldn't figure that one out. The superhuman community itself was probably the biggest thing they'd face. Why an outsider to get access to the systems? Why, why? He looked away.
"It's a bleak lose-lose. We've always come out on top, thankfully. The Superhumans from my world are prepared, I want to make sure everyone else has the same chance."

Apollo felt a similar fascination while looking at the body. Just thinking about what this race could do was intriguing enough, but actually seeing one was altogether something different.
