Close the City and tell the people

Who: Tony Stark, a skrull body, and YOU! (This is also a mingling type of thing if you wish!)
Where: Avengers Mansion: the basement lab
When: Sunday through idk, whenever?
Warnings: Some sciencings! A dead body! There may be more autopsy-esque things in here!
Summary: Tony got ahold of the Skrull's body. This is all for education!! Also to look at everyone who comes because he monitors everyone :(

809 Fifth Street. The mansion with the large A on the gates was something of a dead giveaway. They weren't open, but at a new arrival, it was likely they would. The yard itself was silent. The path to the mansion proper was blocked off with a rather familiar suit that looked a lot like Iron Man who would stand there, and point the way to the exterior basement entrance. Once in, a lot of the side projects and other tables have been cleared, and there's essentially just a Skrull's body. Tony's nearby in slacks and a button up, looking over that something that looks like an iPad (but it totally isn't!!!) his fingers tapping against it gently as he moved around the body.

There were cameras above, watching, listening in. He might be focused on the tablet for the moment, but he was pacing, waiting to educate. With the information about the Skrulls compared to what he'd known he'd been doing, he knew that hadn't worked. It had not worked. Futile. He'd thought keeping it secret had kept down the paranoia, would cause fewer problems. It hadn't. Who had been the one who suggested that? Jessica Drew. He was going to try something different, and maybe-- Maybe with all the different superhumans, different powers, things may have a better chance?

So he was going to at least try, and give some of the people a look at it up close if they wished. See who was interested, and who wasn't. And who could help out with any information he gave out. Not that he would give out all of it to anybody, paranoia only stretched so far. Things like Skrull biology, skrull society, he could share that, though. It wasn't exactly common knowledge, but common enough with the superhuman community.

Well, I wouldn't say we're already on a losing side.

[Or -- hopefully not. She's hesitant to share too much with a stranger about the details of what happened with her own people, though, at least unless Dick questions her further about it.]

[ Lucky for her he's pretty used to people everywhere being more than a little tight-lipped about the places they come from. Instead of prying further he gives her a sad little headshake. ]

That's kinda what I'm looking to prevent.

[She doesn't necessarily fully agree with Tony's dissection process, but.]

That's the hope. [ His eyes drift back to the body pretty much on cue. He... pretty definitely doesn't agree with the way she was disposed of but bringing that up in mixed company is almost never the best plan. ]

...How long have you worked with Stark?

Five months or so, now.

[Since shortly after she arrived in the city, in fact.]

Although I'm consulting for the police as well, lately.

[Not that she's actually done anything just yet.]

You and me both. [ Though admittedly dropping evidence by Jack Bauer's office and hoping he doesn't get shot on site is probably not quite on the same level of what she's referring to. ]

Maybe we'll run across each other sometime.

[Probably not, since she and Jack actually talk face-to-face. She nods, though.]

I'm sure that we will. You know, I'm really hoping this -- ends better than I'm thinking it will.

[ He takes a few extra seconds there to study her, then drops his eyes a little and tries on a smoother grin. Smoother than he's feeling, down on the inside. ]

Then let's try and make it so.

[Once you've seen your own race's destruction from the already-resolved end of things, it's hard to think of it happening to anyone else.]

No reason to work at cross purposes. [ And he's holding out a black-gloved hand, arm spikes and all. ]

[She offers her hand out, three-fingered as it is, and doesn't so much mind the spikes. Turians were a bit pointy, after all.]

Tali. Tali'zorah vas Normandy, but that's kind of a mouthful.

[Although -- with the mask, she doubts he'll be giving her his real name. A codename, maybe.]

Batman. [ He says it like a trademark, and gives the three-fingered hand a firm shake. Truth be told, he's seen stranger. ]

[Well, she doesn't show any recognition at the name, but he's been friendly enough - so she returns the shake.]

I hope we'll be able to help each other out in the future, Batman.

I'm sure we will. [ And she gets a jaunty little salute. Batman never forgets a face. ]
