SUMMARY: Ned leaves, Shahrazad accidentally films herself being sad, and somehow this turns into a walk in the moonlight. Vampires, man.

[Shahrazad drops down from the rooftop she was perched on in a few easy jumps. She settles against a nearby wall and waits. Shahrazad takes special care in focusing on the sounds around her. It was some comfort to have a friend coming. She didn't want to spend too much time thinking about life after Ned's departure if at all possible.

It'd make it too difficult to greet Ghost with a smile.]

"Heh... good call on your uncle's part--especially for the rest of us. It's so easy for ruling factions to treat underlings--even of the same species--like tools, fodder... objects..."

He pauses, adds, in an earnest kind of voice, "You are not responsible for your society, Shahrazad."

Shahrazad blinks twice. Did he really see through her that easily? She was always the type to take too much responsibility for things. It never helped the Empire society encouraged it either.

"I know that. I am only one of many children our Eternal Mother has. She is the one responsible for the best and worst aspects of the nobility. Still... I'll take responsibility for them should it come to it. Looks are deceiving with my kind. I wouldn't want to the other ImPorts to find out firsthand how true that is."

In short, she does not want them to see how easily they could slaughter whoever offended them. They were for the most part so easily offended.

The loosest shrug he'd ever given, and then a quick clarification, "I do not feel qualified to argue with you on the finer points of vampire society."

In the dark, his eyes glowed slightly brighter, compensating for the lack of external light. "Do you believe it impossible for their opinions to be changed?"

Her mood lifts at that. "I do. The root of the problem is most of the nobles know nothing about them. They didn't grow up alongside Terrans like I did. If they were given the chance they could see the truth. We're really not different at all. The trouble would be making sure nothing happened before they were able to come to that conclusion. I'm confident I can manage it so long as there's not too many arriving at once."
