i reached for you to save me
WHO: Dick, Andromeda, and Wes
WHERE: a random alley
WHEN: today!
WARNINGS: blood, injuries, mentions of torture
SUMMARY: after spending the morning in the torturous clutches of Norman’s skrull hunters Dick Grayson is subjected to the far greater trauma of being rescued by a not quite!ex-girlfriend and her other not!boyfriend.
FORMAT: words
[ Work back. Back is where he needs to go. Back through the memories sliding past in slow trickles; back through the steps his feet are taking, one after the other. He needs to go back. He needs to.
He presses a hand against a brick wall, reaching for something like the stability he’s lacking but damn it he can see the blood he’s leaving behind. Blood on his hands. Too much evidence.
His feet... stop suddenly where they are and all at once that threatening edge of whiteness at the edge of his vision is blinding. He can’t fail. Can’t lose now. But his whole body’s sagging against the wall, draining that last hard burst of energy.
In a minute. In a minute he'll get up. ]

The sound of someone in pain wasn't unfamiliar. Shadowy alley? Check. Lack of reinforcements? Check. Pulling out a stake Wes made his way to the sound.
Wes knelt down next to the man and put his fingers against his neck vein. Alive. Barely.
Putting the stake away he reached for his communicator calling the only person he knew could help]
It's alright. We'll get you fixed up.

Hello, Wes? Everything all right?
[Wes wouldn't call in the middle of the day just to chat, would he?]
no subject
Andromeda, someone is hurt. I'm not sure how bad, but he's alive and bleeding.
[He gave her the location]
I'm no good a healing spells, besides I'm fairly certain he needs a real doctor.
no subject
I'll be there as soon as I can.
[And at that point she hung up, not wanting to waste time -- she grabbed her increasingly small stash of healing potions that Severus had provided for her and hastily explained the situation to one of the other workers before heading out the door.
It was a tad longer than she'd hoped it would be until she made it to the location, since apparation was out of the question, but when she stepped out of the taxi and actually saw who it was...well. She rushed over next to Wes and dropped down enough to scrape the front of her pants, swearing softly under her breath.]
Dick? Dick!
[She curved her hand against the side of his face gently, trying to get him to catch her eyes if he was going to come around. If he wasn't -- well, they'd deal with that in a second.]

...I need...
[ back. He needs to go back. ]

Can you apparate with him or should we call an ambulance?
[No matter his feelings he would still help this man]
no subject
You need a bloody healer, is what you need.
[There's the clinking of vials while she rummages for something to at least slow down the bleeding. She uncorks the vial and places it at Dick's lips.]
But first you're going to drink this, all right? I'm going to try and get you up. Wes, can you help me? I think I can apparate him as long as I can get him to lean on me enough.
[No need to splinch something off by having him too far away. And because yes, Andromeda does -- recognize the awkwardness of the situation, she turns to Wes.]
Thank you for calling me, Wes. I'm sure Dick will thank you later.
[She'll make sure of that.]

Andie, they... [ The thought's drifting again but he chases it down this time, grasping the threads before they can slip away. He can't give up. Has to make her get this. ]
I'm not... the only one...
no subject
Who did this? Do you remember anything more?
[Even as he helped steady Dick for an apparition he looked at Andromeda]
If there are others they could be in danger. I could attempt a locator spell, but I'll need more information from him.
no subject
I understand that there are others, and that they are no doubt in danger -- but if we're going to help them, we need information that's reliable. Dick's in no state to be coherent just yet.
[She pauses, hesitating. Dick's no good to them if he goes into a coma or -- worse.]
I'll meet you at the clinic, Wes. We need to get him there as soon as possible, as when he's stable you can ask him all the questions you need to in order to start that locating spell.
[And it was at that point that she spoke to Dick quietly.]
All right, this isn't going to be comfortable, but it's the fastest way. Just close your eyes and try not to throw up, all right?
[After a few more moments to allow Wes (and possibly Dick) time to speak again, she drew her wand and disapparated with a loud 'crack' to the front of the clinic's building. She tried to keep her grip firm enough that if they stumbled as they appeared again, they wouldn't fall.]

[Before she could leave with her passenger Wesley looked at her seriously]
Be careful. More than ever, please be careful.
[Stepping back he watched the pair disappear. That slight tugging in his stomach was still there, but there was more he had to worry about at the moment]
