The area for the quarantined is spacious and clean. Although technically under police custody, the room is established in a large auditorium of City Hall. There are five walled 'dividers' that offer the quarantined the semblance of privacy. Never mind that every inch of the room is taped on camera -- cameras that Mitchell Hundred can control with a word. Never mind that there are armed guards on the other wise of each exit. Never mind that the communicators of the quarantined have been disabled from encryption capabilities.

They were allowed a bed. Access to any bathroom was to be monitored. Meals would be provided. They were handcuffed but not leglocked. If any of the number disagreed with their situation, heavier imprisonment was negotiable.

The quarantined were to be questioned by those in authority, or those who were experts on Skrull detection. Or those who thought they were.

You know what I think about people who allow their emotion to rule their logic. [The very fact he's in here is testament to his lack of faith in the average person's logic.] I suppose a civil dialogue was too much to hope for.

Though, speaking of civil dialogues, I'll have you know that Norman's superhuman endurance allows him to act twenty times more snide than a typical male adult. It's really quite a wonder, I don't think there's enough hypothetical popcorn to fill the hours.

A bunch of scared people and disbelievers all in one room. What could go wrong? [ There was a slightly sarcastic edge to it, but more for his annoyance at being in here . ]

That's a shame. You don't think he'll run out of steam eventually? [ A moment's pause. ] No, never mind. That's rhetorical. I know he won't.

Clearly you're more in favor of the alternative method then: a dark little sect of psychopaths mutilating and torturing random imports in effort to discover who's a Skrull and who isn't. [His time with Arthur had been quite illuminating.] Anyone who finds the more civil method disagreeable is inevitably enabling that insane violation against humanity. We were trying to protect the masses. [He sniffs, falling back onto his bed in a childish huff.] Those idiots. They ought to be ashamed of themselves, preventing the people who could help them from helping them.

Well, in the event of an invasion, are we allowed to escape, Mr. Deputy Mayor? I don't know about you, but if the fighting starts, I don't know if I'll be able to help myself. [ A half-dramatic sigh. ]

I don't know anyone that would support a sect of psychopaths torturing people, Mr. Nygma. It's certainly not me, although I would prefer to be taking a more active stance from now on. It's a shame.
