WHERE: The Former Headquarters of the 9th Wonders, aka their apartment.
WHEN: Today, Sunday Mar. 15, early afternoon.
SUMMARY: Charlie comes back from being ~gone~ to the home where only one other is left. Peter and Charlie play catch up and who can hug hardest.
FORMAT: AIM quicklog.
Charlie: | [so we have Charlie who looks more exactly the same way she did the day she disappeared...although, of course, she doesn't have her purse with her (because that would have been too helpful, apparently) and looks like someone who *may* have been crying in the cab. A little bit. Anyway. Now she's out of the cab and waving at Peter just a little bit like a madwoman and he gets a hug.] |
Peter: | [Peter is waiting outside and looks jumpy. He'd cry too, but he's more manly than that. He sees Charlie and of course, he's gonna hug her back. Like really, really tight.] "C-charlie." |
Charlie: | "Hi." [It's kinda muffled and she doesn't care. What does she say, really?] "I'm glad you're still here, kind of, really." |
Peter: | "I thought you were--" [C-croak. OK, he cries a little. Peter was always more emotional than other men his age. That, and Charlie practically came back from the dead. Again.] |
Charlie: | [More hugs. Though Charlie does eventually let go because hugging one another until they pass out is probably a bad idea.] "I'm really, really sorry." [Not that she had any control over the situation or anything, but...still.] "You said there was stuff to tell me?" |
Peter: | [But Peter likes the hugs!] "We should go inside. It's--well, I don't know if you'd call it dangerous out here. Better safe than sorry." |
Charlie: | [Well they can do that couples-ish half hugging the whole way inside.] "Yeah it seems kind of...active?" [A worried look.] "Inside's good." |
Peter: | [Arm around her shoulder and holding her close as they walk inside, up the stairs, to their apartment.] "There's two Iron Mans for starters. There's Tony Stark and the one that brought us here--his armor." |
Charlie: | [Charlie nods.] "Kiden told me. So it's like...alive as in magic or are we talking about Artificial Intelligence sort of thing?" [She puts nothing past this place, really.] |
Peter: | "AI. Tony Stark doesn't look like he does magic." [Peter unlocks the door. Apartment is pretty much the same except Haruko's stuff is all over the place and there's some take out boxes. It's...messier.] |
Charlie: | "Well. Yeah, I guess so, huh, what with being Iron Man and all." [Glancing at the mess.] "You got a roommate?" [Because Peter isn't this messy. Ever.] |
Peter: | [Sometimes. Peter is a bachelor, l-lol.] "Uh, yeah. She's not in right now, but you'll meet her later." |
Charlie: | "Okay." [Well. Charlie's here which means more clean, less take-out. Another squeeze.] "How are you? Really." |
Peter: | "Better." [He smiles and goes to sit on the couch.] "I mean, with you here. I swear I almost--you know." |
Charlie: | [Charlie smiles.] "I'm glad to be back." [And glances around the kitchen and starts putting things away/throwing them out.] "I wish Hiro and Gwen were still here, but..." [Charlie sighs. It'll be okay, she'll be okay, everything will be...well, not okay but better.] "When you talked to Adam, what did he say?" |
Peter: | "He said--" [Peter sighs. He feels like he hasn't had a good night's rest in weeks.] "He had information. Knew where you were, and he'd tell me in exchange for my arrest." |
Charlie: | [Clang! Charlie dropped something in the sink.] "He said -what-?!" [Sighing, sighing forever.] "Your arrest for what? You haven't -done- anything!" |
Peter: | "I was supposed to. I almost--but...well, now it doesn't matter." |
Charlie: | "No, it doesn't because you're not going to do anything that you could get arrested FOR!" [God, Charlie, calm down and stop pointing.] "Sorry, I just...oooh, I really really think I hate that man." |
Peter: | [Snort.] "You think? We're back to where we started now." |
Charlie: | [Charlie laughs.] "I'd rather not hate anyone but...yeah. And is that a good thing or a bad thing? Do people know he's giving names to Hodge? And that nut is still...running around. Ugh." |
Peter: | "Yeah, people know. I've told Door. She's been really busy organizing a patrol team and rallying the troops against Hodge." |
Charlie: | "Oh, Door. I should check up on people." [But not today. Today is...stay home and acclimate day] |
Peter: | "Her team is patrolling the City while other heroes guard Stark Tower. You came through the porter, right?" |
Charlie: | "Yeah but there really wasn't anyone around so I just...got out of there." |
Peter: | [He gets up and walks over to the kitchen. Finally starts helping put some stuff away.] "9th Wonders, back together again...tomorrow at least. Are you hungry? Thirsty?" |
Charlie: | "Both, yeah." [She laughs at the 9th Wonders.] "I think we need a few more to be a duo and not a team. Maybe once the patrolling has calmed down we can get on that." |
Peter: | "Haruko is on the team too. Ah, she's the roommate." [Peter laughs nervously.] "She can open portals and pull anything out. That's the gist of it at least." |
Charlie: | "Oh so kind of like Door but a little different?" [That nervous laugh gets an eyebrow.] "She's Japanese?" [Rummaging in cupboards for food.] |
Peter: | "Way different. She's a little...eccentric." |
Charlie: | "Ohh." [Pat on the arm.] "Maybe we can balance her out or something." [Small laugh.] "I'll find out when I meet her!" |
Peter: | "I hope." [Peter rubs his arm.] "We met when she...she ran me over. Then we went out for curry." |
Charlie: | "..." [Stare. Blink. Shake of the head. "She ran you over? Are you okay? Did you heal?" |
Peter: | "I got a broke wrist out of it. Otherwise, I'm fine. She helps with the rent." |
Charlie: | "I'll have to call the temp agency tomorrow. Is your wrist okay now?" |
Peter: | "It's getting better." [Peter rubs his wrist now. He's been keeping the cast off for the past few days.] "Hopefully I'll get back to work too--and crimefighting." |
Charlie: | "Well if we stick around each other it should heal faster, right?" |
Peter: | "It should--oh." [Peter laughs, flexing his wrist.] "Thanks." |
Charlie: | [Charlie laughs too.] "You're welcome!" |
Peter: | "I missed you." [He sighs~.] |
Charlie: | "I'm glad to be back. I...well, I'm not sure I missed -anything- because I can't really remember but I'm really glad to be here, now." |
Peter: | "You went back, didn't you?" [Peter moves closer.] "There was nothing?" |
Charlie: | "I don't...I can't remember." [This is bothering Charlie, a bit, but she can't really remember anything prior to dying and showing up here in the first place.] "Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be." |
Peter: | "Doesn't make death very pleasant, huh?" [Peter can't help hugging you, sorry.] |
Charlie: | [Charlie likes hugs, it's okay. She's jut trying to not turn into a sobbing mess of a girl.] "No, but...no." |
Peter: | [Perfectly OK. Peter is pretty much a sobbing mess of a girl already. H-hugs tighter.] |
Charlie: | [More hugging. Lots more. And when Charlie finally feels like she can breath and not have a breakdown in their kitchen she'll hug for a little longer.] |
