(no subject)
WHO: Charles Xavier (
oxfordian) & Daria Morgendorffer (
onmyneck)
WHERE: Xavier Institute
WHEN: Mid-day, Powers Training.
WARNINGS: None!
SUMMARY: Daria is enrolled in Charles' Powers Training class at the Institute, and Charles offers to help her discover her powers.
FORMAT: Anything goes; prose to start.
It was a part of Charles' curriculum and practise to attempt to decipher the Porter-granted skills of his students when they were brought into his class, and this new student would be no exception. While in some cases it could be entirely obvious, others were much more subdued -- after all, when a student was unaware of their own new abilities, their minds were not entirely able to divulge those secrets as it was not conscious of them either. Charles had spent quite a bit of his time perfecting the capability, though it was by no means immaculate and certainly not definitive. He would usually request for his new students to come to class about ten minutes early, to give him an open window of opportunity without having to find activities for his entire class.
It was in that ten minutes that Charles was waiting patiently at his desk for the arrival of his anticipated student. He was preparing an additional syllabus and a few of the week's assignments in advance, but lifted his head each time he heard a sound in anticipation of being as polite as possible -- even if listening for minds would have been more effective.
