[Chell wasn't one for social codes. she didn't know that there was anything particularly creepy about a lone young woman in a bright orange jumpsuit wandering the streets in the middle of the night with a gun-like device in hand.
she didn't know that it would be suspicious-looking if she snuck into a random warehouse that once belonged to some kind of pastry-making company.
she didn't know that the sounds coming from said device would echo ominously from the warehouse into the night.
but she honestly had to try this out. a few hours ago she had discovered that the AHPD could be pulled out of thin air and rest comfortably in her hands, and while she had no idea how such a thing was possible...she just had to. it was practically second nature to use this thing. even before she regained access to the device in her hands she had found smooth white surfaces catching her eye every now and then, the inner workings of her brain figuring out where another portal could be placed for ideal velocity or puzzle solving...even though there were no puzzles to be solved.
no tests to be taken.
she at least had the decency to sneak off to a remote location to try this. and the warehouse had plenty of smooth surfaces and boxes to climb on.
just like hom--...the facility.
with a deep breath, she fires her first portal...a blue one, on the ground in front of her. When the portal takes shape, there's a sigh. a few feet away are a pile of well-stacked crates a dozen or so feet high. angling her gun over at the wall across it, she shoots the secondary portal: orange this time. then, with a jump she falls into the blue, out of the orange, and then shoots another blue portal before she lands on the ground again, gaining momentum as she exits the orange a second time...
and lands expertly on her feet on top of the tower of crates.
there's a satisfied breath as she stands atop her new perch, looking around.]
((lmao what is sleep....and what is tl;dr in action brackets.))
