WHO: BATWOMAN and YOU
WHERE: various and some seedy locations in the City.
WHEN: between the nights of 3/19 till 3/23

With that, she focuses on the tasks ahead of her for tonight. Time to get to work. ]

On top of City Hall; 3/19 early nightfall
The conflict caused a subtle schism in his mind.
So sometimes, when nights were clean and clear, he'd sneak past the usual security and unriddle the proper padlocks. Sometimes he'd climb onto the soaring roof of City Hall and watch the pinpricks dart about below.
Sometimes it soothed him.]

It's the glimpse of green and purple accents that gets her to turn around, perching herself on a ledge of a building opposite of City Hall. She's not far, but not close enough to have her presence detected.
Ugh.
She'd prefer to be anywhere else right now, but she also prefers he not get any closer to edge. ]

The thrill was something to indulge in, the murmur of risk and spectacle.]

3/20 NIGHT SOMETIME
she's being rather lazy about it, looping circles around the tops of skyscrapers slowly as she goes around the city in something resembling patrol. she may or may not be humming bon jovi as well. ]

3/20 [Abandoned Warehouse #518]
she didn't know that it would be suspicious-looking if she snuck into a random warehouse that once belonged to some kind of pastry-making company.
she didn't know that the sounds coming from said device would echo ominously from the warehouse into the night.
but she honestly had to try this out. a few hours ago she had discovered that the AHPD could be pulled out of thin air and rest comfortably in her hands, and while she had no idea how such a thing was possible...she just had to. it was practically second nature to use this thing. even before she regained access to the device in her hands she had found smooth white surfaces catching her eye every now and then, the inner workings of her brain figuring out where another portal could be placed for ideal velocity or puzzle solving...even though there were no puzzles to be solved.
no tests to be taken.
she at least had the decency to sneak off to a remote location to try this. and the warehouse had plenty of smooth surfaces and boxes to climb on.
just like hom--...the facility.
with a deep breath, she fires her first portal...a blue one, on the ground in front of her. When the portal takes shape, there's a sigh. a few feet away are a pile of well-stacked crates a dozen or so feet high. angling her gun over at the wall across it, she shoots the secondary portal: orange this time. then, with a jump she falls into the blue, out of the orange, and then shoots another blue portal before she lands on the ground again, gaining momentum as she exits the orange a second time...
and lands expertly on her feet on top of the tower of crates.
there's a satisfied breath as she stands atop her new perch, looking around.]
((lmao what is sleep....and what is tl;dr in action brackets.))

But it had been faulty and potentially harmful to the people around. She doesn't recognize this woman's face, though she can make out the determined look in her eyes.
So she follows her... like a ghost. She moves from rooftop to rooftop, eventually making her way toward the warehouse. From a window above, she watches the experimentation of the portal gun unfold. Well, this woman clearly knows what she's doing, but curiosity is only a natural part of a Bat's nature.
If Chell is paying attention, she might make out a large, dark silhouette disappearing into the shadows. ]
no subject
she looks over just in time to notice the silhouette disappear, and she feels the hairs on the back of her neck prickle with unease as she remains staring in that one spot.
any normal person would call out, ask 'who's there?' but Chell had made a habit out of not talking, so she simply remains quiet, watching, trigger finger at the ready if there winds up being a need to escape.]

3/21. late night, scummy alley.
He sits, slumped against a wall, helmet tucked under an arm. The night is ancient, yet the frustration of not actually achieving anything is eminent; a day wasted in search, but no action. Eyes closed, Azrael rests. Inactive, at least for a moment. ]
ohoho
Sometimes, it's as if she hasn't left Gotham. If it's not the Cityzens, it's the imPorts who provide familiarity.
Her footsteps would go unnoticed to the untrained senses. She walks along the edge of the roof, unaware of her company below. ]

3/22, central park at night!
You have no business trying to tell me what to do. I'm going through with it no matter what you-- no, you shut up, you're the one deluding yourself with fake cures and the idea of playing house. All because you still want her. You want her back -- we both do, and this isn't the way--
[ Harvey picks up a rock, gripping his fingers, unsure what to do with it. He's oblivious to his surroundings, at that moment. He just thinks it's lucky that he's alone. ]
No, it isn't like that.
Shut up.

She hates this waiting period. From the day she saw him at the towers, she started her own private countdown to the day Harvey Dent's reformation crashes and burns.
Because it's going to happen. She only wishes it were sooner. ]

GENERIC SEEDY ALLEY #4932 ON THE 20TH. also can he read her thoughts?
Kate catches his eye; he had seen his fair share of caped vigilantes since arriving, and they always interested him. He made sure to keep himself hidden, following her, watching what she did and how she did it. People-watching was his new favorite hobby. ]
sure! and jsyk she has power nullification!!
Really, it's like a home away from home here at times. She misses home everyday herself. Since she arrived, she'd never settled in properly.
Somewhere along her third rooftop in this particular area, the feeling of being watched is upon her. As she reaches the edge of the building, ready to leap off of it, she calls out without looking back: ]
I'd prefer if you didn't.
[ Is it Robin again? She hopes he's not tailing her for what feels like the millionth time. ]

22nd, midnightish
She's coiled around the roof of one of these now, crouched like a great black cat, gleaming orange eyes surveying the well-light streets below. The lights don't reach up quite this high, and she stays nicely shadowed as she watches the humans below. She can almost taste them even now, when she'd made sure to satiate her appetite on some much-tastier animal, outside of the City. ]
this reminds me carrie and her still gotta run into each other again!!
Forgiveness was not something Kate easily distributed either.
She forgoes sneaking around or pressing closely to the dark. Instead, she boldly swings on over. A gentle thud of her boots on the ground signify her arrival. ]
I don't think so.
i was actually going to tag carrie in until i was like NO DRAGON INSTEAD. i could do both??
if you want! we could always do a closed log together sometime. :)

21st, around 3am!
No, what she still has to work on is keeping up her awareness of everything else around her while she's focusing so intently. She's currently poised at the edge of a rooftop, staring down into the alley below, (only three men, dealers, and a customer on the way. It won't be much of a challenge, with surprise on her side) and almost utterly oblivious to anything that isn't mentally labeled 'target'. ]

It's practically commonplace in the City to run across another mask during patrol, but this is the first time she's unknowingly worked the same case. The first time she met Redbird had been an odd meeting; too many personal things going on between her and Dick. Things she disapproved of hearing about while they were dealing with Dent.
She's young and possibly still making the same amateurish mistakes.
She makes her landing, grappling hook hung back onto her belt. ]

Night of the 22nd, rooftop somewhere.
Not being noticed was... well, it didn't take much skill when you knew how to make yourself invisible, but Lyra had dropped the illusion when she'd dropped onto a rooftop to catch her breath and look out over the city.]

She sees no bold colors akin to the costumes teen sidekicks tend to wear. The muted and dark colors tell her this girl is smart enough to either do as she's told or know what colors won't out her during night ops. She hopes it's not the latter, as there's no symbol to recognize her by.
In one fluid movement, she handsprings across. ]
What are you doing?
