[ Once again, she feels a prick of guilt when she slips out of the apartment, leaving Nill all alone for the night. It's the last thing she needs, but Kate reminds herself she knew what she was getting into when she first donned this uniform. It has to be done. This is her duty.

[ It shouldn't be a voice she recognizes, but there's something odd and... familiar. Well, it certainly isn't that of a ten year-old's, though this guy still sounds young.

She starts to turn around. ]

Why are you following me?

I'm curious about you. [ He stands his ground, looking at her. He's dressed in a simple beige shirt and off-white slacks, nothing too intimidating. He hadn't seen any reason to change his clothing since he arrived, considering that vampires didn't sweat. ]

Now that she can see him better, she can't believe her eyes. She remembers his Network post and yet... it's still hard to fathom Edward Cullen has been following her. ]

[ It was odd, being something of a 'celebrity' here. At least people had fair warning about what he was, even if hardly any of them took it seriously. A "sparkly" vampire just wasn't the same as one of the more 'intimidating' ones.

[ There's no fear or even glee at seeing him -- it's just plain disbelief. She's well aware that fictional characters can be ported in (people saw Batman and probably herself as one), but from Stephanie Meyer's books?
