little shadow, little shadow
WHO: BATWOMAN and YOU
WHERE: various and some seedy locations in the City.
WHEN: between the nights of 3/19 till 3/23
WARNINGS: brb
SUMMARY: Caped vigilante doing her thing and running into people. FIESTA.
FORMAT: Quick, please! :c Just indicate when and where in the header and we're good to go.
[ Once again, she feels a prick of guilt when she slips out of the apartment, leaving Nill all alone for the night. It's the last thing she needs, but Kate reminds herself she knew what she was getting into when she first donned this uniform. It has to be done. This is her duty.
With that, she focuses on the tasks ahead of her for tonight. Time to get to work. ]

Kate keeps her distance, wanting to lay low and watch for now. She wants to see what the other will do when her time has come. ]

This isn't a spectator sport, you know.

Still, she doesn't let down her guard or step out from the comfort of the dark. ]
Don't run into many in this end of town. [ A beat. ] Not without masks.

[Her voice had an edge of weariness to it. She understood why heroes wore them, why men and women covered themselves with symbols. But after a life of masks and hidden identities, it was something she couldn't afford. This was her escape from all that, her one chance to be honest. And so Natasha didn't cover up her face.]

[ A verbal shrug. After mulling it over, she takes a couple of steps forward. She feigns casualness while surveying the other thoroughly. She rarely keeps tabs on the people she comes across on patrol, but the lack of a mask on this one captures her attention for the time being. ]

[That whole Civil War business is nothing she wants to repeat. Natasha's much less interested in observing Batwoman than Batwoman is of observing her— it's uncharacteristic, but there have been too many deviations from the mission, lately. So her attention again falls to the area she's staking out, preparations. She isn't looking at the other woman, even as she talks.]
From Gotham, then?
[The batlogo is a pretty obvious clue.]

[ If there's ever been someone else wearing a bat insignia and had that whole motif going, and wasn't from Gotham, Kate's never heard of it.
She says nothing more. It might be her stakeout, but as if Kate's about to up and leave. Too many people in the City playing hero... Natasha could easily be one of them. ]

[She says, still noncommittal. Natasha isn't easily distracted, even though stakeouts are usually long stretches of waiting. She's an old pro at this, and every movement of hers says so.]
