[ Once again, she feels a prick of guilt when she slips out of the apartment, leaving Nill all alone for the night. It's the last thing she needs, but Kate reminds herself she knew what she was getting into when she first donned this uniform. It has to be done. This is her duty.

With that, she focuses on the tasks ahead of her for tonight. Time to get to work. ]

Night of the 22nd, rooftop somewhere.

[Practice, Lyra had been told, was the key to getting things right. Which was part of the reason why she'd dressed in her darkest, plainest clothes and jumped out her window, with Pan tucked riding in her rucksack, and practiced flying.

Not being noticed was... well, it didn't take much skill when you knew how to make yourself invisible, but Lyra had dropped the illusion when she'd dropped onto a rooftop to catch her breath and look out over the city.]

[ Out of the corner of her peripheral vision, something emerges -- seemingly out of nowhere. She doesn't believe it's a trick of the little light up here, but that does irk her immediately to make out the silhouette of a small kid. Possibly in their early teens.

She sees no bold colors akin to the costumes teen sidekicks tend to wear. The muted and dark colors tell her this girl is smart enough to either do as she's told or know what colors won't out her during night ops. She hopes it's not the latter, as there's no symbol to recognize her by.

In one fluid movement, she handsprings across. ]

What are you doing?

[Lyra's eyes widen as she looks up, and her daemon gets to his feet as Lyra tenses, and vanishes for a few seconds before reappearing a few feet away, her expression guarded.]

I was resting a little bit. And before that I was- practicing.

[ Practicing. It's a good thing Lyra cannot read her expression underneath her mask. ]

And what do you call yourself?

[Shrug. Lyra has never quite picked out an alias, since most of the time she tries to keep people from seeing her. But giving out her real name would be a bad idea... So she does what seems like the practical thing, and lies.]
