E-every breath you take?! [incomplete]

WHO: Robin III, Batgirl, Odysseus.
WHERE: In the streets nearish Iron Man's tower.
WHEN: 17 March during the mutant attacks.
WARNINGS: Violence. ... And Slade, so you know, creepery.
SUMMARY: Odysseus posted video to the network, Tim flipped out, punched a mirror, then calculated his location and decided to kick his ass. So he calls Batgirl because she's awesome and he's not stupid, okay.
FORMAT: Quickpara or whatever we want.

Tim flipped open the Titans-only communicator that Slo-Bo had made and tuned to a specific frequency as he made his way through the streets. He was mostly avoiding the attackers, only taking them down when he had to - he had a feeling he'd need to save his strength, and get to his location fast besides.

"Batgirl. Meet me at..." he paused, then rattled off co-ordinates for an upcoming rooftop. "Quickly, please."

"Coming." Her voice answered from the communicator, unquestioning of his request.

Organization could wait. Though minutes may have felt like hours, she arrived quickly, suggesting she'd been out and about when she received the message.

That much verbal explanation was unnecessary, but she accepted it as part of his agitation, and followed Tim swiftly.

In her mind, she replayed the video, picking up again the occasional nuance of emotion from the man's stance. Triumph. Taunting.

Just a few blocks away, Slade was finishing off yet another of the creatures the HIVE had deigned to send them. Ridiculous, really, he thought, watching as the flames died down to nothing but ashes. Why go through the trouble of engineering such monstrosities if they were so easily destroyed?

Slade withdrew the bo staff, faint movement along the periphery of his vision causing him to turn - two figures rapidly approaching from the direction of Iron Man's lab, one of them immeditately recognizable. He smiled.

And then he was moving, shadows folding over him as he disappeared from view. If they wanted to find him, they'd have to work for it.

Now...let the games begin.

awesome!!

Batgirl increased her stride, moving out but keeping Robin in sight. When spurred to action, her words mind took a backseat, letting everything come in naturally as her first language, movement. And she was, in the back of her mind, overcome with sense memory: playing hide and seek (or really, hide and ambush) as a child just like this with him (surely 'father' wasn't the right word), breathing silent, senses focused wholly on the environment. Waiting for him to spring.

hurr hurr *lights up Tim and Cass's lives*

They were coming. He didn't need to hear or see them to know they were - he simply knew, instincts he'd honed over years of training and dealing with situations like this one kicking into high gear. Of course, Slade understood that he wasn't dealing with amateurs - that much had been made clear while he'd held Robin captive. However, since he wasn't here to win, that took the pressure off of him and left it entirely on them. They would try to bring him to justice, to punish him for the wrong they believed he had done. At the end of the day, though, there was no doubt in Slade's mind that he would emerge from this to fight another day.

It was no reason to be careless, though, so Slade also proceeded carefully, keeping his own movements smooth, efficient, and silent. Then, once he was a certain ways in, he paused, letting them catch up, already planning the next phases of this merry chase out in his mind.

Thus, when they rounded the next corner, he would be waiting for them in plain view at the end of a narrow alleyway. He said nothing when he saw them, merely smiled under his mask as he lifted a finger and pointed at Robin - the same gesture he'd used the first time the Boy Wonder had awoken all those weeks ago.

Then, without some much as a shift in stance, a torrent of fire appeared from nowhere, streaking towards Robin and Batgirl with preternatural speed.

As for Batgirl, she dove and rolled beneath, effectively switching sides with Robin as she came to her feet. This Odysseus was as stoic as Batman and spare in his actions, but it didn't impede her ability to read his intention to attack. The helmet would prevent her from picking up nuances of emotion, but she wasn't really interested in that right now. She charged ahead, conscious of the batarangs Robin had sent before her as she attempted to close the distance for attack.
