Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away.
WHO: Seras Victoria, and OPEN
WHERE: Police HQ
WHEN: Backdated to Friday May 4th, from late morning to late evening.
WARNINGS: None yet.
SUMMARY: Seras continues to settle into being in charge of the other Import officers and curses being stuck behind a desk buried in paperwork. She also makes herself available to be complained to, or yelled at.
FORMAT: Whatever
Seras groaned and took a sip of blood from her mug before turning back to the files on her desk. Ever since she'd taken over for Jack she'd been buried up to her neck in the damn things. At least with the suspect and all the evidence Blue Beetle had dropped off she'd be able to close the Reyes case, something the force needed desperately. Too many case and too many of them unsolved, or left open because they couldn't capture the suspect. On top of it they were still tracking down the few officers like Stiles who were taking bribes, or helping the crooks. Overall she had to admit it really didn't look good from the outside, but all the honest cops were doing the best they could. There were just limits though. Limits they couldn't go past unless they wanted to end up like Jack.
Not that any of that made a difference to the citizens of the city. They were going to be angry no matter what. Either the cops didn't do enough, or they went over the line and the Mayor was all too happy to sell out the force to make sure they didn't blame him. At least that was the way Seras saw it. She had to put that out of her mind for now though because right at this moment the force's biggest problem was the sudden increase in violence against Imports. The idiot bigots had always been a problem, but now they were attacking people on the street, even one of her officers and she wasn't going to allow that to go on.
Of course the problem was how to stop it without getting the natives even angrier than they already were. They were going to need help and she wasn't sure where she'd be able to find it. Damn it, why did they have to lock up Jack now?

"D'you have anything that needs to be filed? I'm about done with mine."
As far as Tonks is concerned, this entire thing is a mess. She wants Jack back!

"Who's Agatha?" Tonks does not know who this person is nor is she that familiar with machinery but the idea sounds useful. "That does sound useful, just make sure they're extra sturdy. I wouldn't want to trip and break one of the things."

"And she's not the only one. Callie seems to be pulling for us too."

"I want to report a theft!"
He didn't even notice that the man in charge was now Seras, or, rather, he did but clearly had more important things on his mind.

It takes about two minutes, one Zellien cookie, a toy whistle, a celery stick, two handkerchiefs, a wind-up mouse, and five, no seven lightbulbs before he pulls out a small notepad. "On Thursday someone stole two pink flamingos from my yard. Wednesday they took the buzzer from my post box, Friday morning they littered my porch with paper." He reaches into his pocket and, amazingly, pulls out the "litter" on the first go handing it to Seras to read.
It's a simple typed letter that reads: DEAR NEIGHBOR, THE COMMUNITY ASKS THAT YOU DISCONTINUE USING SUCH OUTLANDISH DECOR WHICH CLASHES WITH THE HISTORICAL HOMES IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. FURTHER REFUSAL TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS ASSOCIATION WILL RESULT IN REVIEW BY THE HISTORICAL HOME SOCIETY AND THE POSSIBLE REMOVAL OF YOUR LISTING.

"Jack trained you well and I'm sure he would be very honored to know that you are keeping an eye on things in his stead. As for our Mayor...it's a tightrope to walk between the import and natural world."
