WHO: Door and Richard;skfja;sd.
WHERE: Casa de Neverwhere Attorney.
WHEN: Friday, March 20, before Door turns herself in.
WARNINGS: A sad Richard. Onoes. ;0;
SUMMARY: Door tells Richard she's going to go turn herself in. 8|
FORMAT: idefk.
Door put down the communicator and glanced up at the ceiling. She'd been in the bedroom, thinking. It smelled familiar in there and comforting.
She missed Phoenix. But she had to make this decision herself, didn't she?
Truth be told, she'd already decided.
Standing up, she stepped out into the hallway and went looking for Richard, a bit pale but determined. She had to tell him - but if he tried to dissuade her, he'd be in for trouble.

He felt Door entering the hallway, inching out of the living room and looking at her with concern. She seemed in worse shape than he was. 'I can't blame her,' he thought ruefully.
"What's wrong, Door?"
sorry this is so pathetically late bb
She smiled at him, wearily but entirely sincerely. He was her best friend, wasn't he? She had to tell him. It would probably seem more than a little bit odd to him, to have her turning herself in - such an ordinary thing to do, or almost ordinary, something that he'd have heard of people doing long before he met her.
Suddenly she wanted nothing more than to talk to him and have him make all of this seem less drastic, less terrible. She wanted a hug. But she knew that wasn't something she could do. So she smiled, trying to be strong, and told him.
"I'm turning myself in to Mi- Edgeworth. For murder."
Don't worry about it bb
"Was it really murder?" He asked, uncertainly. "Or was it self-defense?" The past week had been hard on all of them; he knew he had barely avoided getting caught up in the fighting when he had gone out to look for Phoenix. "Either way--I'm not sure you should be doing this, Door."

She sighed, leaning her head back slightly. "I'm not sure what it was. I was defending others. I thought it was the only way. To kill the - " With a slight shake of her head, she spat out the word: "Mutants."
Which meant, of course, that they had been human once, or were still human. She didn't know, exactly, and didn't understand. But she had killed them. She had felt their blood on her hands, felt their skin tear open beneath her fingers and their guts fall onto her from above - she'd done that consciously.
She had, at the very least, something to atone for.
"It's something I have to do, Richard," she said quietly, giving him a small, weak smile. "I have to. Please try to understand."
Laying a hand on his arm, she shook her head. There's nothing I can do now.

It was hard to think--he wondered if he was even making a impact. He had to make an effort, didn't he? Had to.
"Please, think about it a little more."
