WHO: Gemma Doyle & Daredevil.
WHERE: Her roof.
WHEN: Right now.
WARNINGS: Who knows.
SUMMARY: Awkward singing leads to awkward hotdog eating.
FORMAT: Quick to start, then whatever.
[This was likely the second most awkward situation in which Gemma had ever been involved.
The first was after her family had gone to dinner at Simon Middleton's house and Kartik had thrown rocks at the window because Simon had touched her hair. Going to confront him in the stable had been one of the most humiliating moments of her life, especially after she had run right into the support beam. She remembered exactly how large the lump on her head had been, and how much it had stung.
But being caught in whatever kind of spell or power had made her start singing to the network... yes, it was only slightly less awkward. But, as promised, she waited on her roof for Daredevil to stop by, feet dangling over the ledge on which she sat. Hopefully this wouldn't be too awful. But how could it be? She enjoyed his company, and she was relatively sure he enjoyed hers. Maybe they just wouldn't talk about it.
Right.]

Right.]

If that whole singing thing never comes up, he will die a happy man.]
Miss Doyle.
no subject
Right, just avoid the elephant on the roof at all costs.]
Daredevil. [Pause.] Nice night, isn't it?
[Talking about the weather. How English of her.]

[Or at least it sounds beautiful. The sounds of the City night are echoing so perfectly against the skyscrapers and buildings, it's like a symphony of constant noise.]
How are you, Gemma? It's been awhile.
no subject
I'm... alright. And yes, it has. I've missed you.
no subject
no subject
Too hot? No, not at all. Especially not since I don't wear those awful full-length dresses anymore.
no subject
[Indeed he has. She doesn't make the same rustling sound when she walks anymore.]
This place has certainly changed you, Gemma.
no subject
It's probably changed all of us, as cliche as that sounds.
no subject
I think this world suits you.
no subject
Most of it does, yes.
no subject
no subject
I wouldn't go back for the world.
no subject
no subject
I had already left them all to start a new life in America. I wouldn't think the time would matter.
no subject
[And so young.]
It's nearly your birthday, isn't it.
no subject
Brave, or senseless. [And the mention of her birthday draws a slight blush to her face.] A month from today.
no subject
Are you going to have a party?
no subject
I... don't know. I've never had a party here.

no subject
Mister Murdock? I guess--I mean, is that someone one can ask their employer?
no subject
no subject
Wouldn't it be rude to just--ask? Or is that something people in this time do?
no subject
no subject
I can act adequately shocked, I promise.
no subject
I'm counting on this.
no subject
I promise.

no subject
No, I understand. Good luck. And be safe.
