A reunion of sorts.
Who: Slipstream and Vector Prime
Where: Autobase, aww yeah
When: Sometime after Skyfire's post about Vector being back
Warnings: Robots who are now squishy.
Summary: Slipstream pays a visit to Vector, now that he's returned.
Format: Prose and things???
Slipstream hesitated slightly as she hovered over the balcony outside the Autobase. What used to be the Autobase, when there were larger numbers of Cybertronians in the City. Vector was back, and for some reason that she wouldn't admit to herself, that was an incredible relief. He'd become a mentor of sorts in the time she'd known him. A touchstone, someone to help remind her what she truly was when the flesh wore on her.
She touched down gracefully, then stepped forward to knock on the balcony door. Skyfire had said to contact Vector first, but. This was easier. Better.
Knock, knock.

"I am out of practice."
But it wasn't a 'no'.
no subject
"Might as well get some, then."
In a flash of purple jets, she zipped around him in a tight corkscrew.
no subject
But she could lead.
After a few moments of hesitation, Vector didn't just let her twirl around him; he mirrored her movements, in a speed he would have been hard-pressed to match in his previous time.
He arched his brow as he did, posture only amplifying his expectant expression.
no subject
After all, he'd spun faster than the previous time.
no subject
Go on, Slipstream. Let's have a workout.
no subject
Another glance back to make sure he was keeping up - and oh, he was, joy of joys - and the femme banked sharply to the right to curve around the nearest skyscraper, then took him on a course weaving in and around the buildings.
She cut it close to some of them as she wove her way through the steel and glass maze, always checking to make sure he was following, that she wasn't leaving him behind.
no subject
It's been a long time, but he hasn't forgotten. Spark-memory is more than equipped to take control of his flight, and he lets himself enjoy it, putting on a burst of speed after a few minutes to try and overtake Slipstream.
no subject
Well, that won't do at all, no.
She puts on an extra burst of speed as well, shooting farther ahead of him and banking tightly around yet another building before twisting to soar upward into the open sky.
no subject
Vector keeps it up, challenging her speed; he's altered his goal. It's not so much to overtake, now, but to give her reason to keep on her proverbial toes - or, well, thrusters. He follows her upwards, arms outstretched to either side, eyes narrowed from the wind as he begins to feel the strain of speed.
Exhilarating, nonetheless.
no subject
Wild cackling may filter back to him over the sound of the wind. She doesn't have to hold back, not this time. Their previous dance, she'd worked not to outpace him. Now, there's no need to.
She's not wearing her flight suit, which limits her somewhat, but. This is fantastic. This is what she was built for, this absolute freedom of the air. Even in flesh, it's the closest to perfection she can remember.
She'll just push the limits of what she can stand in the atmosphere, making sure to avoid any human air traffic, and hope Vector can keep up.
no subject
He could catch her. He could move between the dimension's fabric, catch her before he even left...
But he doesn't.
Instead, he simply smiles as they break the clouds, whisps of moisture clinging to his clothing before he slows, if only to catch his breath for a few moments.
no subject
sparksoulprocessor. She'd laugh if the air wasn't so thin, with the wind whipping her hair and tearing at her clothing.Slowing and twisting midair to look face the Prime, Slipstream met his gaze with her own fiery red one, spread her arms wide, and, smiling beatifically, let herself fall.
no subject
...and then, promptly dives as well. Not outright to catch her, or even tag her, no - but to match speed and velocity, spiraling down after her form.
no subject
Fear not, Vector. She activate her jets and flipped into a sweeping curve, cutting it close enough to the rooftops to blow tar and gravel out after herself.
no subject
Something he's able to match without really trying. The most he's doing is keeping enough of a distance to avoid any of that dust on his clothing; other than that, though, there's something to be said about perfect control in the air.
It doesn't seem to have lessened, at all.
no subject
Slipstream thought it was likely time to switch, to let him lead for awhile, so she pulled an abrupt backflip, shooting herself backwards past him, certainly not minding a chance to follow, to see how he'd changed - because last time he hadn't kept up so well, so smoothly.
Rather absently, the femme hoped he'd see the maneuver for what it was and not try to follow.
no subject
This, now. This lead is more for skill and finesse . He's already shown that he can keep up (for the most part), but...
He's curious. How good is Slipstream's own control?
While he's not going so close as to be outright dangerous at high speed, his speed and the quick turns he's doing along the higher floors of the buildings - but it's meant to be a challenge.
There may or may not be a few office workers who are blinking at their window-desks at the blur of a man moving past.
And then the blur of a woman.
no subject
The office workers could deal with it, Slipstream didn't care. Just another annoyance of all the Imports around, right? Flying people rubbing it in their poor, groundbound faces? Pff.
I NO LONGER HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT TENSE WE ARE WRITING THIS IN WEEPS
Primus knows he himself could use the practice.
Vector's path leads them towards the water; when they hit the open air above the river, he goes low enough to touch it, creating a wake behind him at such a high speed.
OH SORRY THATS ALL MY FAULT AA
But regular flying with another Transformer? Primus, yes. Yes yes yes yes. He doesn't even have to ask, she'd say yes in a
heartbeatsparkbeat. The water is exciting, she lags behind just enough to avoid the splash from his wake, creating one of her own with speed and the force of her jets.
ILU ANYWAY also clearly this -has- become a regular workout routine for them both y/n?
...that it's not hard for him to miss the 'lesser' factors of it. And of other things. It takes firsthand experience to remind him that they're there, they're present, and all told...they're not less at all, to be completely honest..
Even with the excitement, though, he's slowing down a bit. Casually so, rather than simply running out of breath; not that all of this hasn't been enjoyable, but he's dropping towards a speed that's far easier to maintain.
They may even be able to hear each other, unless she takes the lead again. Not that he has anything to say at the moment - the look on his face speaks for itself.
Yes totally they've gotta do it like once a week or something
"Feeling a little more in your element?"
SO IT IS
He turned his head to offer her a smile.
"Thank you."
Though quite, there was no doubt to the sincerity of his words.
aaaaaaand end? X3
No doubt to it in hers, either. Around him, she's more relaxed, less snippy, and generally more pleasant than usual.
Funny how a good influence will do that, right?
