Kenzi settled on a bench and took another look around. The ducks were all too far away to even care if she had food or not but the pigeons were already taking an interest in her.

Once she had half the pretzel in hand she tore off a couple small chunks and tossed one to a nearby bird while tossing the other in her mouth. The look on her face said she had clearly decided these pretzels were just for the birds.

"I got careless. I guess. A little distracted maybe. A berserker we all thought was dead wasn't. He jumped up off the ground and stabbed me before anyone could do anything." Her free hand absent-mindedly drifted to the spot above her right hip.

She sat in silence for a few moments before she pulled off another chunk of pretzel for the birds. "Suppose that doesn't explain the why. See there was this thing called the Garuda. Some really ancient evil that has it out for pretty much everyone. We decided we'd fight it and put an end to it and everyone would be happy."
