Kenzi wiggled back on the bench and pulled her legs up so she was sitting cross-legged. "So there's these Fae called the Norn right? Or at least there's one. Dyson, a friend of mine who was like madly in love with Bo...er my best friend, went to her to make a deal he thought was necessary in order to save Bo's life. Well he thought he'd have to give up his wolf...erm..." She trailed off and realized how confusing this must all sound.
"Okay, more explaining needed. See Dyson's a type of Fae that turns into a wolf. Something like a werewolf I guess. Anyway giving up his wolf would mean losing that ability and probably all his strength and speed and heightened senses. That was the most important thing to him the last time he'd gone to the Norn. But his love for Bo turned out to be more important than that. Because apparently when wolf-shifters fall in love it's until death. They never love anyone else."
She took a breath and looked over at him to make sure he was following her before she continued. "So since his love had become the most important thing she took it and Dyson ended up becoming like this total asshat. I mean, he got so bad that his best friend actually punched him." She mimicked the punch then shook her head.
"Anyway, without that love Dyson wasn't whole and not fit to fight against the Garuda so we tried to get it back. The Norn wasn't willing to just give it back without getting something else in return so I went back later with a chainsaw." She paused again and frowned.
"Uh...once again I guess I need to explain. See Norn have this tree that they're like connected to. If you hurt the Norn or the tree you hurt them both. So I think you can see where this is going."
