worn from walking so far

WHO: Max Gibson & Abby Boylen
WHERE: City Hall
WHEN: Monday!
WARNINGS: Probably none? Maybe discussion of trauma they keep winding up doing that.
SUMMARY: Two teenagers doing adult work run into each other!
FORMAT: Whatever you want!

The weekend was a good break, and though she'd done a few things she'd had the time to think things over that she'd wanted. Now she was back to work with slightly more ability to actually think about it than she'd had on Thursday and Friday, and definitely a lot more enthusiasm, if slightly guarded.

This entire situation meant her job was about to become even harder, but it also gave her a goal to work towards for the moment. That was good.

She was refilling her bottle of water when she noticed Abby, and waved at her with a certain amount of curiosity. She hadn't thought Abby would really have any reason to visit City Hall -- though maybe to visit Terry? Whatever the reason, she liked what she knew of Abby and wouldn't mind getting to know her better, so waving at her seemed like the right thing to do.

"O-Oh. That-- actually seems like a really important job. 'Cause. We're really not all that popular. Like, at all?" She rubs the back of her neck. "I mean, not that you can blame them for not liking us, I guess."

It was like that back home, too. She remembers how people used to protest outside of Camp Hammond, where she graduated from her superhero training. Sure, superheroes saved lives, but. They messed up sometimes too. And if people died, the public always remembered it.

"Sometimes I wish I could just be normal again. Before I got my powers and stuff. It sucks being hated all the time."
