adventures in organic people land

WHO: Kang und Steve
WHERE: OUT AND ABOUT
WHEN: This week your need for particulars is killin me
WARNINGS: What
SUMMARY: Two ex-inorganics walk into a bar...or...somewhere
FORMAT: No

Steve could certainly appreciate the adaptability of humans a great deal with the summer in full swing, with the sun unrelentingly hot and bright, with his own inexperience as a foil to his struggles with it all. Just think, he thought, if this was planet Rosa, just how incredibly hot it would be! Even my circuits felt the burn then...how much more oppressive it would be with flesh and bone!

Such were the thoughts that kept an optimistic bounce in his step as he strode through the sweltering city and its baking concrete and glaring metal transports. The thick, curly mop of hair on his head had undergone quite the transformation with the spike in humidity, and did little but become an inconvenience, sticking to the back of his neck and all over his forehead as he sweated...and sweated. Sweating was...certainly a new sensation! At least, in such excess. He'd certainly had a few scary moments before the heat was on, but there was often too much going on to regard sweaty pits or clingy shirts. Now, though, there was little to stop him from thinking on it!

He found out it was rather inappropriate conversation material very early on, as well, and was now quite content to sweat and stink in silence as he rode buses here and there.

And that was how he wandered that day, humming gaily(though he wished he could whistle; he was still learning) and peering from window display to window display, seeking out new things to spark and sate his curiosities. He was quite overstocked in those, luckily; he wasn't likely to be bored!

Unlike, Steve, Kang didn't really appreciate the adaptability of the human body. He hated the sweat that made his clothes cling to his skin and his hair to his scalp. And speaking of hair, he hated that, too. It felt so much different than scales, and just added more heat on the top of his head when he wasn't even used to his body producing its own heat to begin with. His face itched, too, where he'd nicked himself shaving that morning.

The AC in the bus he was riding didn't really help when it was packed full of warm bodies, either. He was in a seat near the back, looking over a set of pamphlets with information on what classes were available for earning a GED with a frown on his face. Luckily, he didn't need to worry too much about math, reading, or writing; it was science and social studies that were going to present a problem. He was so far behind he'd probably need extra help catching up.

Kang looked up at the bounce, and nodded in greeting, holding out a hand to take the pamphlet. "It's alright."
governorkang: (Human - Are you joking)

"No, really, it's alright. I should have been paying attention, too, and moved them before you sat down," Kang assured the man. At the question, he nodded, "Yes. Apparently, I have a lot to learn to catch up with the people of this world."

This guy was really excitable. Kang simply nodded, and ran a hand through his hair, frowning slightly at the way it nearly immediately stuck back to his scalp. "My name is Kang."

"Well met, Steve. The 'Mister' isn't necessary," Kang returned the handshake. "No, I haven't heard of it. The world I come from is called Krynn."

Organic? Computerized?

"...you are also not human?" Kang asked. "I doubt you would know anything about Krynn. If any other world had made contact with ours, it would be well-known. It is nowhere near as technologically advanced as this one."
