WHO: Armaros & Open
WHERE: Around the City!
WHEN: Friday, August 3rd, all day.
WARNINGS: n/a.
SUMMARY: Armaros is getting familiar with the City.
FORMAT: Quick!
[Guilt trip for what he'd done back home aside, Armaros's love for humans is not exactly diminished from being stuck in the year 2012 in some world that's probably not his own. Even here, he finds them so fascinating and amazing, with all the things they've managed to create in such a short time.
Because 14000 years was indeed a short time, when one got to be Armaros's age.
Having acquired contemporary clothing now to help him at least blend in with the crowd a little more, the former Grigori found himself wandering the streets, attention bouncing around everywhere, to shop windows, to people rushing by talking on their phones, to bicycles rushing by and every now and then, he even stops to marvel at the cars and buses.
Even the really tall buildings- skyscrapers?- makes him stop and stare, not even phased by people snapping at him to get out of the way. He can't laugh any more, or express his joy in any other way than smiling so widely at everything that it feels as though his face will be stuck that way forever. It's not quite the level of technology or civilization he's used to but it's still so, so amazing that if he could talk, he would be chatting away at anyone willing to listen about how impressed he was and how interesting humans are.
As it is though, he's going all over, going into shops or malls (how brilliant!) every now and then, stopping at street corners to admire tall buildings, or even checking out more residential areas and parks. He may not feel as though he deserves being here, but he's definitely loving every second so far.]

Sometime in the afternoon!
She excited the pharmacy with a sigh, wishing she had a reason to prolong her trip. She stuffed the little bag into her pocket and started down the street back to the MAC, but stopped and craned her neck in the opposite direction when she thought she saw someone from the network. When she connected a name to the face, she grinned and rocketed off in his direction. Making nice with a fellow import was a great excuse to say out a little later.]
Mr. Ama-Arma. Uh. Arm-oh-ross? [She was already reaching for her comm as she called after him, just to check on the name again.]
no subject
He smiles happily, waves in greeting and nods his head, even if she did kind of pronounce his name wrong, taking a moment to pull his communicator up and type his name out in the way it should be pronounced, before showing it to her. There's also the message of;]
Hello Katie! It is nice to meet you in person!
Are you out on an errand? [Hey, might as well get the asking out of the way when he's writing after all, plus he's quite curious by nature, so...]
no subject
Yeah, I had to go to the pharmacy. [She points down the street behind her.] My brother needed more cough drops.
no subject
Is he sick? Is he going to be okay?
[Humans being sick is definitely one of those things he doesn't enjoy seeing or even knowing about. It always looked very uncomfortable to him back home, even if their medical technology had been just as advanced as anything else within the Tower. He knows what it's like to feel weak- Falling kind of does that to an angel and all- But sickness? He supposes it's another of those things he can't truly understand.]
no subject
[All of them had worse illnesses and injuries before btu she wasn't about to say so.]
no subject
I'm glad to hear it. I hope he recovers soon.
[Another, more cheerful smile then, before he continues;]
I'm just looking around, myself. There are so many things to see here.
no subject
There's a lot, if you aren't used to it. I used to live in what passes for this city in my world, and there's stuff here even I'm not used to.
no subject
Honestly, I have seen technology above the level that can be found here, but it wasn't really natural.
[He frowns a little, before deciding to change the subject.]
I don't really know what being sick is like. It is not something I have suffered from before.
no subject
[She could go into detail about how illness effected the immune system. But just because she was smart for her age didn't mean she always wanted to act like it.]
no subject
So all he can really do here is shrug, as while he's seen it, he's never suffered from any of them.] I suppose.
[Luck had very little to do with it.]
I was not made to be able to become sick, I think, though I know what feeling weak is like.

Angels do not get ill. [He looks thoughtful and then adds something else as well.]
That is something that extends to Fallen Angels as well. We were not made for it.
no subject
Angels. You're an angel?
no subject
He shakes his head then, looking a bit dejected as he types his reply.]
I was. I Fell.

[Sort of. He knew he wanted to be with humans, though he had no idea the price it would come at, with several of their number not surviving the descent to Earth, and the rest of them being weakened- He definitely hadn't expected losing his voice like he did to have it replaced with a mournful cry whenever he tried to utter a word.
And he definitely hadn't expected facing Enoch the way he did.
But still, he had known that he would be punished for what he'd done along with the others at least.
Shaking his head at himself then, to shake the feeling out, he smiles at the girl before looking around to try to find something else to focus on. Oh hey, look, bus.]
Those are called 'buses' right? They're really kind of ingenious.
[Smooth transition there, Armaros, smooth transition indeed.]

What is a subway? Can you show me? It's over there? Can we go check it out? Please? Please? Pretty please?
This is definitely what would have been coming out of his mouth, had he been able to talk. As it is, he just looks at that entrance to the subway, looking so excited and curious that he's pretty much bouncing in his spot with restrained excitement over being told of something new.
Quite the odd sight really, to see a grown man bounce around like a five-year old over something so seemingly trivial.
He looks at Katie then, and then back to the entrance to the subway, back to Katie and then back again.]
no subject
Do you want to go see?
no subject
Even with where that road had led him before, he doesn't shy away from it, because truly, it has to just be part of his nature. So when she asks if he wants to go and see, he nods quickly, several times, white strands of hair flying everywhere with the motion and there's a high pitched wail from him then, in his excitement.]
Whoaaaaan!!
[Several people kind of stop and stare at that, enough to make Armaros settle and look a tad bit apologetic, even as people go back to rushing about. He's still very excited though.]
no subject
[She starts for the cross walk, but stops and backs up to offer him her hand.] It's underground, I hope that won't bother you.
no subject
It's something man-made and seems exciting, so he definitely doesn't mind it at all.
In fact, he may just be walking a few steps in front of her as they head toward it.]
no subject
We have to go over there to get the tokens so we can cross the turnstiles, and over there's the maps to show where you can go on which train. Do you want to go somewhere?
no subject
His attention ever so slowly returns to Katie when she speaks and then tilts his head. Go somewhere? They can go somewhere too?
A firm nod then, as he tries to keep a straight face. And then a few rapid little nods as that attempt at keeping a straight face fails and he smiles again. This is so great!]
no subject
[She pulls him towards the token station.]
Um, do you have money from this country yet? I can pay if you don't yet, but if you want to come back you should learn how to do this.
no subject
He tilts his head at her then, wondering if what he has is enough.
Even as he waits for her response though, he seems so excitable, looking off everywhere else to make sure he doesn't miss a thing.]
no subject
[She pulls him to the station, showing him how to put the money in the machine and pick the right ticket for the ride by walking him through her purchase.]
We're only making one trip so you'd get the lower one, okay? You just press here and there it goes!
[She smiles, takes her ticket, and steps back.] You want to try?
no subject
Mimicking what she had done then, and memorizing it, soon enough, he receives his ticket. Looking at her then, he smiles excitedly waving the ticket in a 'look, I did it!' sort of way.]
no subject
See? Easy! Now we go through the turnstiles and get on the train.
[She tugs him in that direction as she talks.]
no subject
He's really just so happy to learn.]
no subject
Just remember to keep away from the doors when it'd not your stop. People will get mad if you block 'em.
no subject
When they board the train, he's still looking around everywhere, making himself as small as possible when Katie says that people will be mad if he blocks the doors, despite not currently being in front of them, and he nods to show that he understands.]

See those straps hanging down? You can either hold on to those or sit down.
