There was nothing quite like a night on the town. The bright lights on the streets so far below, the wind through her hair as she swung between buildings, the sounds of late-night-early-morning traffic , and the ocassional girly screams of would-be muggers having their arms twisted by a chick in a black and purple cape.

Yes, this was the life. One of them, anyway.

She looks around to make sure everyone's all tied up. ]

I think that says more about Robin than it does about me.

He isn't sure when he realizes she knows he's there. Which of them is out of touch NOW, he wonders.

He loses her for a moment when she drops, but he's not about to let himself be surprised. Not really.

There's nothing wrong with knives. They're quiet!

[ He waves her off, and... shortly realizes that he never actually got the name of the pizza place. That gets a groan and a facerub. But it can't be too far off, right? He spends about five minutes walking, looking for a parlor, getting a few odd looks. But then, eventually, success! So he'll just be waiting outside it, sort of nervously hovering, to see if either of his names actually shows up. ]

To do my job, obviously.

What were you doing?

She waits, perched on a top shelf inside the old warehouse, wondering if she's managed to impress him yet and whether she was trying too hard. It wasn't as though she was still hung up on him... right? Right. No hang-ups here.

[ It isn't until ten minutes later when Stephanie returns wearing more treasures from the safe-house closet - her own clothes, thankfully, and not old leftovers - that she comes to the same realization. Brooklyn isn't where she left him, but there's only one pizza place nearby. Whether or not he managed to find it is another question.

When she finds the place she peeks in the window, finds him, and lets out a sigh of relief. By the time she walks in the door, though, she's wearing a confused look and making sure to give the only other people in the shop as much squinting attention as Brooklyn gets. ]

No need to be so touchy. I was just asking if you were going anywhere specific.

[ Being on patrol means she's still looking for trouble. If he's found some she wants to help. ]

[ He brightens as soon as he sees her, but refrains from the excited waving to get her attention that he wants to do. Gotta be cool, here. Even if he wasn't quite cool enough to make Batgirl want to eat pizza with him. ]

Hey, Steph. [ His best attempt at a cool smile, rather than overexcited. ] —Over here.

That has to be it.

[Huntress pulls out her grappling gun, casting one last disappointed glance at the useless pile of drug dealers.]

And how. Let's leave the professionals to their work. I don't know about you, but I could use some coffee right about now.

Brooklyn? [ She smiles when she confirms for the second time that it is in fact him and slides into the seat across from his. ]

I got a message saying you wanted to meet me, but it didn't say anything about... [ She vaguely gestures at him. ]

It's like you read my mind.

[ She follows suit, grappling to the roof of taller of the two buildings on either side of them. ]

[She joins Batgirl on the roof a moment later and re-holsters the gun. With the snap of gloved fingers, two travel cups of coffee appear in either hand.]

You know, we make a pretty decent team.

[It takes her a second to realize what she's said. After all, Huntress usually operates alone. Behind her mask, her expression is slightly sheepish.]

I mean, that is to say... cheers.

[ichoosefight]

[ She still feels like beaming, although there's a moment where she has to organize the two different Huntresses in her head. A few years ago she was on the other end of that exchange. A few years ago she was also trying to convince Huntress not to kill her dad. It's a pretty big shift.

But combined with the coffee she thinks she can embrace the change. ]

Well, it went through a couple messengers. It was probably better without, uh, too much detail.

[ He sits back in his seat, one hand rubbing the other like he still can't quite believe there's five fingers there, before he spreads them both in presentation. ]

So— what do you think? I mean, clothes aside. Batgirl probably doesn't have much in my size.

You look... good. [ He's kind of cute. Which is a silly thing to think, she tells herself, but it's true. Now if only she could get him into some real clothes. ]

But yeah, you might want to invest in some real clothes.

[ he looks good omg watch him just look completely pleased and maybe a little blushing. Girls don't say things like that to him! ]

Thanks. [ He's too cool to act bashful, so, uh, moving on pretty fast: ] That's the plan. Just, you know, in case this is a limited time deal, I wanted to try out a pizza parlor first. [ A beat, and with a warm smile: ] So thanks for showing up.
