daylight deals a bad hand to a penguin
WHO: Jack Pherson and OPEN
WHERE: One of the little lakes in Central Park
WHEN: This afternoon/evening!
WARNINGS: NUDITY he's uh, kinda not dressed.
SUMMARY: Pherson does in fact bathe sometimes. ...in lakes. With his penguins. And the ducks. And fish. YOU GET THE IDEA.
FORMAT: WHATEVER YOU WANT I'll match
[ Every once in a while, just after dark, with the polar bear keeping watch for cops (but not particularly caring about anyone else), Pherson swims with the fishes.
It also helped mitigate the smell, though Pherson had long since caring about being hygienic. He piles all his clothes and his robe on the beach and dives into the lake. All the creatures in the lake come to speak to him, fishy platitudes intermingling with duck gossip. Pherson's small pack of penguins dive in with him, taking advantage of the fishes' curiosity.
Pherson doesn't particularly care that he's a naked man swimming in a public park. He has plenty of company that doesn't care. ]

he gives the polar bear a wide berth, though naturally he looks at the penguins in the lake and
promptly looks away again, sighing. He doesn't particularly mind, per se (there are very few things that he objects to strongly enough to be called an inherent dislike) but there are probably better ways of doing things. ]
Have you considered getting some sort of pool? Other people might object to your presence in the lake. [ not that he does, though... ]

They don't matter.

Well, he sounds concerned, at least. ]

I doubt the municipal government would appreciate me getting a pool for Central Park.

It's curious. ]

But he's definitely warmed up to the stranger. ] It's rare for anyone to have an interest.

I do like animals - they're better company than people, sometimes, truth be told. [ a rueful smile. ]

Do you have friends of your own?

Mm, there's a few stray cats that have taken to me, but I don't specifically own any. They seem to know their own minds, so I don't think they'd take kindly to being domesticated. [ cats, man. you know how it is. ]
