the formal (icon of hell optional)
WHO: [OPEN]
WHERE: the Brandt Banquet Hall
WHEN: Sunday March 29
WARNINGS: B|
SUMMARY: the superhero formal. Will things explode?
FORMAT: whatever you feel like

There are extensive tables for hor d'oeuvres, small desserts, and champagne as well as an open bar. Room for dancing is obvious, flanked by a small group of musicians. And there are alcoves for the shy, the hiding, the amorous, the machinating, or the creeper lurking.

i apologize for being slow >:
Bobby smiled sheepishly in response to her compliment. "Thanks, you look...well amazing." Girlfriend, remember you have one.
After a moment of awkward silence he moved closer to his date and offered his arm.
^_^ no worries, today is a slow day
Her eyes slowly fell onto him again as she glanced sideways, but a smile was curling onto her lips. His emotions were quite easy to read at the moment, nothing of any detail, naturally, but enough to let her know how uneasy he felt.
She continued speaking as if what she had said never occurred.
"Powerful? No, not as much as he would like others to believe he is. In fact, this is a clever ploy to try and lure the people into trusting him." she frowned slightly, "It appears to be working somewhat."

What Raven had to say next didn't put Bobby to ease any. "That sounds all too familiar." he frowned as well. It sounded like something Saint Dane could easily be behind but he was sure if that demon was in the City he would have known by now.

"Also, it is also my first formal occassion as well." she laughed gently, shrugging a bit, "So we are in that boat together."
Her voice lowered again, almost as if she was expecting to be overheard by some unseen force, "My advice when dealing with the man hosting this event? Smile and act as if you appreciate everything he has done and suspect nothing - but do not trust him. There is a completely different, dark side of him that the world is unable to see."

Bobby looked down at her, his frown deepening at her words. "Just a warning but I'm not that great of an actor."
no subject
"You are dealing with a half-demon - the man hosting this. I am not certain of the full extent of his powers as of yet, for all I know that may be one of them, there is no way to be completely certain."
A beat, then she continues, "If he decides to come to speak to you, simply thank him for the clothing, and I will handle the rest." Raven gave a slight squeeze to his arm with hers, "It will be fine."

He gave a nod and sighed. "Sure. I'll do my best to bite my tongue." Something he often had trouble with, especially if he became angered. "I certainly hope so, I'm still pretty crappy at using my powers."
