the formal (icon of hell optional)

WHO: [OPEN]
WHERE: the Brandt Banquet Hall
WHEN: Sunday March 29
WARNINGS: B|
SUMMARY: the superhero formal. Will things explode?
FORMAT: whatever you feel like

There are extensive tables for hor d'oeuvres, small desserts, and champagne as well as an open bar. Room for dancing is obvious, flanked by a small group of musicians. And there are alcoves for the shy, the hiding, the amorous, the machinating, or the creeper lurking.

"Raven," Castiel said, instead of hello. His tone was as always -- even and matter-of-fact -- and his expression did move in an effort to shift beyond one of general concern. He did, however, tilt his chin slightly in her direction, so that when his eyes moved to look at her, they did so more easily. Beyond that he remained, for the most part, still and unmoving.

He had felt her approach from across the end of the long banquet hall; she was among some of the few that Castiel was able to perceive within the large space, but he had not had the mind to go to her since she proved herself to keep unpleasant company. First the half-breed and then the Fallen One. And then another being -- unidentifiable. It left Castiel to wonder if she had already chosen her path. Regrettable, he thought to himself, but did not share this opinion outloud.

"Your words imply compliment," he then said, flatly. "I will admit no such thing."

"Stubborn as always, I see." Raven sighed softly at his entire body language, tucking some hair behind her ear out of sheer nervousness now. Yes, it seemed she truly had managed to piss off someone of the angelic host - delightful. Why shouldn't she just burn bridges with Tim and Peter while she was at it and seal her fate indefinitely?

"You realize that you appear to be somewhat of a creepy sort over here? Almost like a man stalking his victims?" despite that her words had somewhat of a humorous ring, it had been far from a lie - there had been many times where one of security detail may have mistaken him for having bad intentions, what with his features combined with his unmoving stance. "If the demon hosting this event is attracting flies with honey rather than vinegar, wouldn't it stand to reason that fighting it with a sweeter source would be a wise solution?"

Sighing she grew much closer to him, touching him for no reason but to straighten out his tie - she anticipated a violent reaction to this, but did it anyway as a sign of peace and grace. "But I know you did your best, you are about as used to these events as I am. I do appreciate you being here, even if he does not."
