You will have to grow up, be an adult, be bored and unfulfilled

WHO: April Ludgate and Felicia the Mini
WHERE: Random locations in the City
WHEN: Backdated to Wednesday afternoon/eveningish
WARNINGS: No?
SUMMARY: April is assigned babysitting duty. How Eddie thought this was a good plan remains one of life's mysteries.
FORMAT: Para then whatever

Directions. That was what April could have asked for more of. But it was too late now. After all, her cellphone was all the way in her bottom of her purse. Just too far to make it worth it. So, after a few minutes of wandering around, instead she scribbled a few words out on the back of a street flyer she’d torn down and took her place on the corner of a street near to where she thought Felicia was supposed to be waiting for her. In proud, lipstick purple letters, the sign April held up in front of her read:

LADY BOSS

Now it was just a matter of waiting. Or actually breaking down and sitting in some coffee shop to dig out her comm to call the ‘kid.’ God willing it would never come to that.

Felicia watched April from around the corner for a good couple of minutes before she got bored of hiding, and bounced over toward her. Felicia had an ice cream in hand.

"April? That's you, right?"
purrlywhite: (ugh this storyline why)

"Back there." Felicia pointed over her shoulder to an ice cream stand, pointedly taking a lick from her cone.

"Want one? I can get it for you."
purrlywhite: (totally listening)

Smiling, Felicia walked back in the direction of the ice cream truck, whispering to a few passing children and coaxing them to go wait in line. As the owner got more preoccupied with serving customers, Felicia let herself in through the back and disappeared for a moment.

Minutes later, she bounced out quickly, popsicles in her free hand, and ran over to April.

"Here you go."

Felicia gave her own ice cream another lick and tilted her head contemplatively, shrugging one shoulder.

"I don't really know. Punishment for what would be the real question -- I haven't done a thing."
purrlywhite: (wow that's boring)

"Arcade," Felicia agreed, beginning to walk down the street toward the car. She stopped when she reached the car door and turned around, taking the last bite of her ice cream.

"I hope you're not expected back soon. I just don't see that happening."
purrlywhite: (totally listening)

"Sounds like a plan. You can let me worry about him when we get back. He doesn't stand a chance."

Felicia smiled innocently as she leaned against the car, fiddling idly with the lock.

"So are we walking or driving? I think there's an arcade a few blocks that way."

The lock pops open, and Felicia opens the car door.

"I'll share mine. I found some while I was waiting. Really, why be in this part of town at all if you can't enjoy it a little?"
purrlywhite: (wow that's boring)

[personal profile] purrlywhite 2012-10-07 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Horrible indeed. Sorry, I was scoping you out. Figured I shouldn't just go off with a stranger."

She's settled into the passenger seat, mostly because she can't see over the steering wheel that well.

"I think I have enough to get us through the afternoon."

Fine then. She can do that. She shuffles around, still talking and also rolling her eyes.

"He can't ground me either. He doesn't any authority over me, as much as he might like to pretend he does. Especially if he's sending his employees over to babysit."
purrlywhite: (oooommmmmmggggg)

"You're his employee. He'd probably claim it under your workday."

Luckily they're only taking it a few blocks away; though it won't matter regardless if the car gets towed. Felicia surveys the area through the car window, deciding if there's anything else nearby worth doing after they play video games.

Felicia fishes her hand into her bag and pulls out a handful of quarters, passing them to April before she pops the car door open.

"If you run out just let me know. I can always find more."

"I could, but we don't kill as much time that way."

Smiling, Felicia counts how many she has, and gives April a couple more.

"Or we could always do both if it comes down to it."

"I'm great with guns. Perfect aim." Not guns with bullets, per se, but grappling guns count. Felicia follows April, looking around the arcade for anything that looks worth playing or taking. She's not expecting much from the prizes, though.

Felicia sits in one of the stations next to April, gripping her hands clumsily on the wheel. She smirks, and speaks loudly enough to be overheard. "Me too. Since this is my first time in an arcade I brought tons of money to use for the games. Think I'll need it, too, if I can't even figure out which way to turn the steering wheel."

"I wonder how far you can go driving backwards," Felicia mused, sitting up a little so she could see the screen better. She glanced around, scoping out the competition. "Well, we'll find out."
