[ this is hardly the worst part of kanaya's night. this she can handle. she's still tipsy from the strip club, but she's definitely slowed down in the different atmosphere.

and tavros is tall enough that she doesn't feel as weird around him, so she eases onto the adjacent to his, something colorful and fruity in her glass. ]

You don't appear to be enjoying yourself.

[ Tavros smiles as she approaches, already a few drinks in but holding up pretty well (thank his enormous stature). he's in-between them at the moment and back to people watching, so the company is obviously welcome. ]

I'm, having an okay time, I guess. It's not as bad as I thought it would be.

[ she lazily points a finger at him, definitely drunk. ] Annnnnd yet, you remain seated here as if you're courting the idea of growing roots! You are aware of the purpose inherent in the title of a dance club, are you not?

[uhhh]

[ oh dear, Kanaya. his grin grows a little, shrugging one shoulder. ]

I don't think it would be a very good idea, for me to dance, for two large, unwieldy reasons.

[ she gives his reason a scrutinizing glance, then another at the floor, studying the activity at its corners. ]

I think we could devise a workaround to this.

[ she offers him a hand. ] Come along.

[uhhh]

Huh? Oh, uh, I don't know—

[ he glances past Kanaya and the offered hand to the dance floor, hesitates and mulls it over for a moment and then slowly slides off the bar stool. people duck to avoid the wake of his horns and murmurs apologies left and right as he takes Kanaya's hand. ]

[ be a bro tavros, it doesn't make her feel as freakish when there are two of them. she leads them to the edge where they'll be less out of the way and basically throws herself into the music. she is so drunk. ]

What's not to know? There is only the music and the rhythm within it to follow. [ which she is not doing so expertly but she does not even care. ]

[uhhh]

[ he has pretty much the same unsure face that anyone watching them has, and for a moment or two he feels incredibly embarrassed for Kanaya. she is going to get judged so hard and he needs to save her.

he inches up to the dance floor and pulls a few experimental wiggles in hopes of attracting a little attention. it probably doesn't qualify as dancing if you're just faintly shaking your metal butt to a beat but it's the best he can do. ]

I think I might prefer making the beat, rather than, being the one dancing to it...

[ hey at least it isn't quite as bad as, say, elaine dancing, but yes, being embarrassed for her is exactly the appropriate reaction. possibly videotaping it to mortify her with when she's sober and has enough sense to be embarrassed for herself. (though maybe too much, as is typical.) ]

Oh, don't be so stodgy!

[ and she grabs his hands in hers and tries to jerk them along to the rhythm. ]

[ he sways and wobbles, holds Kanaya's hands in turn to maintain his balance and twists with the music. his lower half is still insisting on being independent from his upper half, awkwardly wiggling while the top part twists with the rhythm. it's pretty silly-looking. ]

I'm not being, stodgy... I just don't, really know how to dance.

[ she gasps as if this revelation was earth-shattering, but with how drunk she is, it comes off just as fake as it really is. ]

What? I-I never realized! Oh, what a terrible affliction to be stricken with!

[ she shakes her head and begins to laugh. ] No, I'm sorry, that wasn't actually sincere at all. No one cares if you can or not, only as long as you do.

...And don't step on anyone, preferably.

[uhhh]

[ B| stiffly wiggles his butt some more, trying to do as little stepping around or turning his head as possible. ]

I'll, not step on anyone as long as you don't accidentally fall on anyone. And then, I think we'll possibly be at a good compromise of not, making a mess of things, and still being able to dance.

Oh, don't be silly! I'm not going to... [ she stumbles drunkenly, but manages to catch herself before she goes all the way down. maybe these heels were a bad idea. ] Alright, well, it won't be a person I fall on, at least.

You can fall on me, if you need to. I probably won't fall down.

[ probably. if he pretends he's a brick wall hard enough then it might become slightly less fake. ]

[ or was it the exact opposite? man, that was over a year ago and she never completely understood when equius talked about technical specs. she honestly has no idea what she's talking about here. ]
