[ It's not odd in that time most imPorts had either spent as a child or in Venezuela, crime had risen in the City to take advantage of the eerie silence from the heroes. What is odd tonight is as Kate's gaze falls upon the City at her vantage point, an unsettling silence is all she feels from streets. From the murky corners of the alleyways to the incredulous harbors, she knows it's all wrong.

No, it's--

She can't afford to lose her focus now. She never does when she's in uniform, leaving the troubles and other burdening thoughts behind at the apartment until she's returned. But somehow, she hasn't managed to shake it off when she's sitting atop of a high-rise building all by her lonesome.

Well, there's always work to be done. The dead air is shattered by the distant police sirens, as if timed to remind her of that fact. Without a moment's hesitation she dives off the side of the building, a blur of red and black that eventually sinks into the dark to get to work. ]

[ Felicia doesn't seem like she's going anywhere, so Kate's rooting herself to this rooftop as well. ]

[ She tilts her head, taking a couple of steps backward. She assesses what possible routes of escape might be possible; or if not escape, what would make for the best chase. ]

[ She cocks her head, indicating she's observed this. ]

You're not going to cut our conversation so short, are you?

We could always walk and talk.

[ She pauses, contemplating. ]

Fine with me, Black Cat.

[ Felicia smirks and turns sharply on her heels, taking off running. ]

[ She can't say she's completely surprised. Kate bolts after her. ]

Now that's rude.

You can run fast. What's the problem?

[ She leaps. ]

This your idea of a "walk"? [ She manages to keep up the pace, at least. Kate somersaults forward in hopes it will get her closer. ]

Running's much better exercise. [ She swivels, balancing on the ledge of a roof. ]

[ She debates using her line to make a grab for Black Cat's wrist, but holds off for now, still dashing after her. She jumps then, coming toward the roof. ]

I keep in shape, thanks.

Well of course. You couldn't keep up with me otherwise, could you, Red?

What have you got to run from? [ She hopes Felicia is distracted enough, moving her hand subtly to her belt where her line is. ]

Nothing really. [ Felicia spins to change direction, her hair flying in the wind. ] Sometimes I just like to run. Don't you?

[ It's a waste of time, in Kate's mind. She could be anywhere else right now, busting a drug ring or heist. But she feels bizarrely compelled to find out more about this Black Cat lady. ]

Sure. [ She whips out her line, tossing it over to try and snatch Felicia's wrist. ] But a game of cat and mouse can get boring after a while.

[ It snags, and Felicia stops for a minute, spinning to free herself. ]

But which one of us is the mouse?

[ She doesn't make another attempt, but she does bolt forward to close the distance between them. ]

Or should it be cat and bat?

Doesn't quite have the same ring to it.

Not much of a chase.

I'm getting a little tired of this pointless chase.

[ Though she says that, there's nothing to really indicate she can't keep at this for a while. ]

Pointless? [ It got them away from anything incriminating, so Felicia feels satisfied enough to stop. She circles Kate, moving closer to her. ]

I'm a little rusty on the protocol here. You're not going to frisk me, are you?

If you have something to hide.

I've been a good girl.

[ Still circling. ]

I'm holding you to that, Black Cat. [ Translation: "Don't get on my bad side." ]

[ But what if she wants to, Kaaaaaaaate. She peels one glove off. ]
