i learn resistance
WHO: BATWOMAN and YOU
WHERE: various places in the City. Rooftops, alleyways, etc.!
WHEN: backdated from the night of the 7th till the 11th
WARNINGS: violence and blood
SUMMARY: redhead bat doing her thing again. Running into people. Maybe helping civilians. Who knows? FIESTA PART II.
FORMAT: tagger's choice
[ It's not odd in that time most imPorts had either spent as a child or in Venezuela, crime had risen in the City to take advantage of the eerie silence from the heroes. What is odd tonight is as Kate's gaze falls upon the City at her vantage point, an unsettling silence is all she feels from streets. From the murky corners of the alleyways to the incredulous harbors, she knows it's all wrong.
No, it's--
She can't afford to lose her focus now. She never does when she's in uniform, leaving the troubles and other burdening thoughts behind at the apartment until she's returned. But somehow, she hasn't managed to shake it off when she's sitting atop of a high-rise building all by her lonesome.
Well, there's always work to be done. The dead air is shattered by the distant police sirens, as if timed to remind her of that fact. Without a moment's hesitation she dives off the side of the building, a blur of red and black that eventually sinks into the dark to get to work. ]

she hauls the man back, placing him in a choke hold. ]
I don't think so. [ her voice soft but dangerously low. she cries out when she feels the knife dig into her leg. bastard. though he slips from her weakened grasp, he's still close enough for her to get a direct hit. she hits him squarely in the jaw and down he goes. ]

Christ. [ he exclaims breathlessly. when had he become this slow? he is at her side in a moment, stepping over the man and wiping at his cheek with the sleeve of his coat. ] Are you all right?

she focuses on john, then. ]
Fine. [ she replies so casually, it's like another day in the life for her. ] You're hurt. I can call an ambulance.

No. [ her tone is firm, but not harsh.
then she directs her attention to the unconscious thug. ] He should still be out by the time police get here.
[ it's too open an area they're in, and if she goes now, she'll catch the one who ran off. ]

I can't change your mind? [ then, the thought occurs to him. ] I'm a doctor, you know. I could patch you up, if you want to avoid any... nevermind.
[ he can already see her attention is fixed on the one who got away. ]

she pivots on her heel, cape swishing lightly behind her as she walks away. ]
Take care then, Doctor. I'd also prefer if I were kept out of the police's hairs.
[ rather, she prefers to not have them sticking their noses into her business. ]
