[He doesn't actually feel up to taking visitors yet, but who is he to argue with the professionals? He's surrendered, he deserved whatever torture they dished out, including uncomfortable conversations with his former friends. It wasn't like they'd understand anyways. They hadn't been through what he had. They hadn't touched true power, had the ability to to fix the world right in their palms, had such divinity slip away.

If they had, they'd probably be called crazy, too.]

I was preparing them for the future. The world is a cruel and inhumane place. We allow crimes and immorality, we turn a blind to the disadvantaged. We celebrate criminals. God forbid someone who has a solution pass the message on to others.

[Clearly no one understands what he wished to achieve. That or they're all too afraid to consider that it could have worked.]

Stop it. Stop talking like that! [Jack starts to stand up from the table, arms tense against its surface. He can't stand it when the other side sounds this much like him. Guards take up positions behind him in case something is going to happen here. If he notices, he doesn't show it.] Abusing a position of trust with young people is more immoral than anything you could have been fighting against.

[His voice edges into a snarl, bordering on yelling.]

I hope to god you've been brainwashed or replaced by a Skrull or something, because if not, you've betrayed everything you stood for and everyone you were supposed to serve.

[Matt sits back in his chair, expression clearly unimpressed and unamused.]

Everything I've done is for the benefit of this world. There's no abuse involved, nothing immoral. Meanwhile, the system continues to fail, abuse continues to happen, every single day. And because you disagree with my methods, you and everyone else will condemn this world to chaos and disorder.

[Goddammmit Matt stop being Jack's ninja lawyer twin. He can't handle it and it shows on his face.]

Shut up! I'm not going to stand here and let you justify yourself. I told you-

[He's outright yelling now in the middle of the asylum cafeteria and the guards appear to have decided that is enough out of him. Two of them move in on him and grab his arms, hauling him back, trying to get him to calm down before a fight starts. Jack keeps going, yelling over them.]

-you weren't just teaching a martial art. Stop lying to me!

[Jack is right, to some degree. Matt was teaching them a way of life, a philosophy that this world would never approve of, never agree to. But he won't acknowledge this aloud. He'll instead sit quietly and let the guards do what they must.]

Let go of your fear, Jack. It will only hold you back.

[Matt's placidity is even more infuriating than his actual words. Jack struggles against the guards, but NOHoPE staff know what they're doing, and more guards are showing up to back up the first two. They keep his arms secure as they pull him out of the cafeteria and back to his room, leaving Jack's unfinished lunch sitting in front of Matt.]
