WHO: Bight [personal profile] dragonlordbight, open to other swimmers who were transformed and followed Bight and Tiger back.
WHERE: Bight/Crucibles warehouse.
WHEN: Just after the polar bear club incident.
WARNINGS: none as yet.
SUMMARY: Bight offers his warehouse as a place to stay for the night for Kotetsu and any other transformed swimmers who need a place to stay.
FORMAT: Prose to start then tagger's choice.

It had taken some time to sort through the chaos that was the Polar bear club incident, sorting out just who was who, translating where needed, but finally the chaos had subsided, at least long enough for him to lead Kotetsu, and any others who had chosen to follow back to his warehouse, set far enough away from the main roads that there would be few reports or worries about a tiger or any other animals prowling around and set close enough to the water that any water based animals or dragons who had a fondness for water could easily slip out without much worry.

The warehouse itself was a considerably large building, previously having been standing disused for many years, Bight had seen to neatening the place up. The main area a rather large and open space, a few assorted benches lining the walls with various odds and ends, tools for use with his work in wards. Off to one side he had set a number of restored couches and cushions that he had acquired in the case that he ever had guests. For those of more keen of nose, another scent lingered in the air, not an unpleasant scent, but it had the hint that something quite clearly non-human had often been through.

"Welcome, it still needs some work here or there, but it has worked well for my needs thus far. It should do well for a place to keep from public eye for now should you wish it as well,"

Even if his tiger form was a muscular and powerful big cat, Kotetsu was tired from all that walking. Walking after swimming in the bitter cold, no less! But Siberian tigers were apparently built to swim and withstand the weather, so he wasn't in dire straights - just exhausted. He nodded a thank-you towards Bight and padded slowly through the warehouse, sniffing and looking around.

It smelled weird. Not bad-weird, just weird. He wasn't used to having all these smells telling his brain about who might have been here and when and how. Not even bothering to try to pry the mask off his tigery face, he prowled over to the couches and jumped up, looking for a comfy spot to flop down like an oversized house cat. And that was exactly what he did, letting out a groan that was half-growl. You're a life-saver, he said, or made noises to say to Bight. I need a nap first, then I'll worry about what to do with the public eye.

Kotetsu rolled around indulgently on the couch cushions, making himself comfortable and getting his tiger scent everywhere by instinct. If not for the size of him and the claws, he might be a cat worth putting on the internet. After a bit, though, he settled down and just sort of watched his savior from across the way. You don't seem too bothered by talking to a tiger, he rumbled. Are you used to this sort of thing?

His head came up, then, his eyes bright behind the mask. Do you know of any ways to switch us back, maybe?

Dragons? The surprise was evident even to someone who couldn't understand tiger-speak. Kotetsu stared at him, even though he had already talked to someone who was part-dragon while in the City. He wasn't used to the possibility at all. Though, now that it had been said, something about the permeating scent of beast in the warehouse made a little more sense, even if he couldn't quite put two and two together to make the conclusion. Kotetsu's instincts were good but he could be slow on the uptake sometimes.

He huffed and rested his chin on the couch cushion, gazing plaintively at Bight. You're willing to try, though...so thanks. I don't see as how we've got a lot of choice either way. If it's somebody's powers, or something...it might wear off, it might not. Like when everybody got turned into kids...

Kotetsu-tiger sighed so heavily that it made his whiskers flutter. Yeah, I guess it's down to waiting either way. Waiting it out, or waiting for someone to find a cure.

His eyes shifted back and forth, taking in the interior decorating (or lack thereof). He didn't know anything about this guy, who had just stepped in to help him out. Maybe, with a few growls and whuffs, he could ask. Sorry to hear that, though. I know the feeling. I'm the only one from my world here, as far as I can tell.

Kotetsu's head came up slowly. I think I met a guy like that. We talked about kids. What was his name again...?

He flopped back down and huffed. Thanks for the offer. I don't know, I might have to take you up on it whether I want to or not. It's a long way back to my apartment. Crap... That was a snarl. How am I going to explain this to my boss? The premiere is coming up! I can't still be a tiger when the show starts!

Kotetsu calmed down and settled back down, though his tail still flopped irritably, lashing at the couch. Next...next...hmm. Next week. Friday? Yeah, Friday. The first Friday of January. My boss needs to know...though I don't know how to explain this. I don't want to just say 'can't make the press appearances, I turned into a tiger this week.'

He decided to not worry about it for a moment, and focus on the other topic at hand. Kang, that was it. Right. He was excited about his kids, so we talked about it for a while. Nice guy.

Kotetsu's tail flicked in amusement. She, actually. Yeah, maybe if I have someone call in sick for me. Tell her I have laryng... That word didn't seem to come across in tiger-growls so well, so he rephrased it. ...that I can't talk.

He laid his head back down and rolled onto his side. So much for that nap. Chatting with someone while being a tiger was pretty fun. Kids will do that to anyone. Oh, am I glad my daughter isn't here to see this. She'd just think it was my fault that I got like this anyway. And I wouldn't want to put her in danger. He raised a paw and flicked his claws, looking at them. If he couldn't use his powers, at least he could still defend himself if someone attacked.

Kotetsu perked up again. You have kids, too? Wow, there's a lot more dads here than I expected at first. His deep purring was a rather obvious mood-indicator. Tell me about them. It'll take my mind off being a tiger for a bit.

The purring just went on, getting louder perhaps as Kotetsu thought fondly of his own daughter in comparison. You saved them and raised the orphans? That's so amazing. You're a hero in your own right, for that. Although, one thing in the list made him whuff with laughter. Eight? What, did you run out of names after the seventh one?

Kotetsu put his head on his paws and kept on purring, the equivalent of his usual fatherly squeeing. Ah, so adorable! They must be the cutest dragons ever! Dragons or not, kids are kids and fathers are fathers. And he was finding that most of the fathers around here all missed their children the same, no matter who or what they were.

Kotetsu lounged on his side, his exhaustion catching up to him. His big amber eyes were starting to blink closed. Flying kids, no less. That just magnifies the trouble, doesn't it? I can't even imagine...

Only the tail-twitch showed he was still awake, though he watched Bight through half-closed eyes, curious.

Kotetsu's response was all purr. Kaede is pretty willful, too, I have to admit. She's grown up so fast. She's ten - as cute as her mother, smart, headstrong...

It occurred to him, then, that anything on his person when he transformed might not still be there, unlike the mask. He lifted his left paw and checked, and whuffed a big sigh of relief. His wedding ring was stuck around one of his claws. Walking back to the warehouse hadn't dislodged it. Seeing it left him wearily grateful, he didn't know what he would have done if he lost that.

Kotetsu settled back down and gave a rumbly purr, but no words came with it. He didn't have to be told twice, a nap sounded wonderful right about then. He would probably notice more or get more in touch with his tiger abilities when he was more alert, later. For now, that couch was his.
