SUMMARY: The First Annual Winter Carnival is being held in the Danger Room! Come visit the virtual midway, ride the rides, win the prizes, and participate in a large scale game of hide and seek!
FORMAT: Tagger's choice!

The Danger Room has been programmed to look like a winter wonderland amusement park. Everything is white, a soft, layer of snow coats the ground and a light flurry seems to be perpetually falling all around. Although it's all a simulation, it even feels cold in there.

As you enter, there is an old fashioned carnival booths with games and real prizes to win. After you wander through the maze of booths, you will find the heart of the fair in the form of a county fair style midway. A ferris wheel, tilt-a-whirl, a carousel, swing ride, a pirate ship, a round-up, all of your favorite standard rides are there. There's also a fun house with a full of mirrors and puzzles and a tunnel of love for all you love birds (but beware... there are teachers chaperoning the entire event so don't try anything too sneaky in there!)

On Saturday, Scathach will be hosting a large scale game of hide and seek through out the entire Danger Room carnival. Everyone attending is welcome to participate and the winner will receive a gift certificate to Chuck E. Cheese!

Booths and Games

This section of the carnival has booths selling cotton candy, hotdogs, and popcorn along with games and traditional carnival entrapments. Ever want to watch a virtual rat race? Have someone guess your age? Toss rings onto bottles for a prize? Then this is the place for you!

[ This is just Kurt Wagner, your funnier-looking headmaster of the two, walking around with a smile on his face. It's not quite a circus, but it still carries an air of nostalgia apart from just being something fun.

He's here to converse and keep any disruptive shenanigans to a minimum, with any luck. He's probably going to try his hand at a game or two, if he couldn't pick which ones look promising. ]

[Some might think it odd indeed that a man with no connection to the school would be running a booth, but this was the Doctor and he was never one to miss a carnival! There were lights and balloons of all different colors and the confetti canon was making a not so rare appearance.

It was a simple game of skill and chance involving black bottles that contained different colored rags inside, each rag connected to a ring at the mouth of the bottle which the player had to hook with a fishing pole. Never one to miss an opportunity to make a child smile, those extra small players were guaranteed a prize and every prize had been handmade by the Doctor.

The prizes where small devices that let out a random sound, smell, or color when held by two people. Every parents nightmare and every child's favorite!]

[Calvin has been drawn like a magnet to the Doctor's area by the siren call of the confetti cannon.]

[Always happy to show off to someone who would appreciate his talents, the Doctor bounced over to Calvin with a pole and gave him a demonstration]

Every color wins a prize. A really fantastic prize sure to delight everyone who gets one!

[Damnit, he'd come here to avoid wallowing in his apartment, and yet here he is wandering around vaguely, failing to hide his nostalgic expression. At least until the cannon snaps him out of it.]

[The Doctor pops up from behind the cannon with a rather large grin]

I've been told many times that everyone loves a good old fashion confetti cannon!

[Some of the games are different, and the prizes, but the general atmosphere is the same as the Day of Hope back in Teyr. Kang's actually enjoying himself walking around and playing some of the games with a nostalgic smile; one or two of the prizes he wins and doesn't really want, he gives to children nearby. It isn't so cold that he can't wander around in his normal scaled body, and he doesn't stand out too much given the location and the company.]

[ Carnivals in America and Japan differ vastly leaving Rin to do more exploring than anything else. She gags anytime she looks at a booth with food (do you know how fattening the stuff they have to offer is?) and quirks a brow towards most of their games. When she finally finds something she's comfortable with? Her demeanor shifts to a younger one, as she finally finds some solace with the reminder of home. Any games that might be familiar to Japan she'll participate in and she might even try a new one.

Seriously though, who let her play at the booth with guns? Her aim is horrendous. ]

[ Any shooting game isn't much for Kurt personally, but his wandering around is more about being properly friendly and social than indulging in any games. He can't help but develop a grin at the unfortunate turn this round has taken. He pauses to offer jovial sympathy on the matter. ]

Ouch. Perhaps trying your hand at a different game will prove more profitable?

[ Whirling around to point the rifle towards him. It's not all that threatening considering it's a toy, but the intent is there regardless. ]

Are you saying I should quit? What kind of person just does that?

[ Raven hadn't even intended to end here, but apparently there she was, so yeah.

She was giving a careful stare at the cotton candy. Nothing that pink and fluffy could ever taste good, right? ]

It doesn't bite.

[Pay no heed to the distracted looking short guy wandering about the stalls. Just ignore the irritating way he keeps glowing with varying brightness.]

[More like a great place for a girl with luck stealing abilities. Games of chance? A piece of cake for Vriska. She's amassed such a useless hoard of crap that it's getting hard to tote it around, including but not limited to a goldfish, a big cheaply made stuffed animal, and more small prizes than she knows what to do with. It'd be nice if she still had her sylladex to hold everything.

She's taking a break off to the side of the booths, eyeing her haul and wondering if she should fly it back to her hive before continuing, or if she should just call it a day. These things are probably more fun when you go with friends. Not to say she wasn't having fun abusing her powers, of course. It felt great getting to use them for something again.]

[Armloads of stuff like that are bound to get someone's attention, and to no one's surprise they do! Hank gives her haul a bit of a quizzical look and sighs. One small boon of the carnival, he supposes, she would probably never have stepped foot on the campus otherwise.]

Rides

All types of amusement rides await you over here! Wander the hall of mirrors in the funhouse, ride the Gravitron as many times in a row as your stomach can handle, kiss your sweetie at the top of the ferris wheel, or make nasty comments while riding the tunnel of love. There's lots to do and it's up to you!

[Calvin is really glad they went with the carnival instead of the other options. He has been having a great time so far. Right now he's wandering the mirror hall, watching his reflection warp and distort in front of him. He stops in front of one particular mirror that makes his reflection seem much taller and thicker than his childish body.]

Hey look, I'm a grown-up again!

[radiantly]

[Angelica is in her earmuffs and scarf, in spite of her naturally heated state, slowly wandering after her hyperactive little ward. Once she reaches the hall of mirrors, her reflection is that of a short, plump little person with an overly large forehead.]

I'll swap with you, Calvin.

[ If there's anyone else (boy or girl) standing outside the tunnel of love awkwardly, guess what? There's now one overbearing teenager girl pointing towards it. ]

I'll ride with you, alright? Let's just get this over with.

[ Who cares if they were waiting for their real sweetie? Rin thinks she's doing whoever this is a favor after all. ]

[blueshifting]

[ What is going on. One moment Raven was carefully trying to find a way out of this thing with people she had accidentally walked into and now there is this weird girl dragging her into some overly pink place. ]

Are you sure?

[ Maybe this is a big, big mistake? ]

Hide and Seek

In the afternoon, Scatty will be hosting and refereeing a game of hide and seek. Heed your vampire teacher's rules and it'll be all good.

[This was not normally the sort of thing in which Scathach partook. She was present enough in the school's activities, she thought, but Rachel's departure had put her in a strange sort of mood. Suddenly, involvement was almost necessary.

The rules, to be honest, are simple:]

Do not abuse your powers, do not lie about being out. I will know. [She will.] Questions?

[There shouldn't have been any. But she's being helpful.]

[Calvin is already edging away from the group, ready to bolt and find the best possible hiding spot.]
