you've got a way with words but be more precise
WHO: ZeXals.
WHERE: MAC.
WHEN: The 20somethingth.
WARNINGS: shrug
SUMMARY: Everyone needs to Talk to Kaito.
FORMAT: Tagger's choice.
[ While he had been the one to suggest talking to Kaito, Shark hadn't really expected that he'd be present for said talk. But, of course, here he was outside Kaito's door. He wouldnt've ever chosen to be here at any time normally - unless pounding the floorboards to make him stop that infernal whistling stopped working (not that it worked anyway, but you get the idea). It's not like he didn't have things he wanted to ask Kaito, no. He just didn't want to admit to having them, and didn't particularly want to come face-to-face with the guy who had literally torn his soul from his body.
But Yuma and Astral... Shark eyed them from his place leaning on the doorframe. The lie, or miscommunication, or whatever it was that Kaito had told one of them had been bothering them for a while. The discussion Shark and Yuma had had at the arcade had made that much obvious, and while he'd managed to give Yuma some kind of temporary reassurance, it was still vital to learn the truth. It mattered to all of them.
But he still didn't want to be here. ]
I don't even know if he's home.

A person does not simply walk up to the door of their rival and attempted murderer. It doesn't work that way. And even if Kaito appears more... easy going, Astral's paranoia remains considerably high. Kaito surely isn't above lying for his own gain, because he already sold his soul. Actions unfit for a Duelist, but possible for those who have forsaken everything for a goal.
The most dangerous people lack a Duelist's Heart.
He remains focused on Kaito's door even with Shark addressing Yuma and him.] He's here.
SIGNIFICANTLY LATER THAN FIRST PROMISED I'M SORRY
But he has to know the truth! He can't let fear of something bad keep him from knowing for sure. Besides that... besides that, he trusts Shark, and he does trust Kaito. After everything that's happened...
His arms drop from the cross, and one slams on the door with a reverberating loudness, much more forceful than the knuckle-rapping of before.]
Oi! Kaito! Kaito! Open up, will ya?!

This can't be good.]
What's going on?

Great.
Quickly shutting his jaw with an audible click and stepping away from his spot on the doorframe, Shark stood slightly behind Yuma and took to glowering sourly at Kaito from over Yuma's shoulder. Maybe he could just. Turn around and walk off and no one would even notice. He didn't have to say or do anything, just keep any words to yourself and walk away--]
Maybe you should tell us.
[Oh goddamn it.]

Maybe.
It was several seconds after that that Yuma managed to speak.]
There's somethin' that's been bugging me. [Good start. Now, could he actually get to the point?] Something you said to Astral doesn't match what you told me.

You're going to need to be more precise.

Shark clicked his tongue once to make himself known, straightening from his crossarmed slouch before speaking.]
Here's a bright idea. How about we do this inside?
