Wally was not nearly as nervous for his dates as he might have been had the girls been older and more attractive. Not to say that they weren’t attractive, they were both very beautiful young women, they just didn’t quite live up to people like Wonder Woman or Fire. What could he say? He had a type, and it was way out of his league, so to speak.

Being less nervous, as it turned out, made dates a whole lot more fun. There was no pressure to perform well because he had no intention of taking his relationship with either of them further than a meal. Kat, at least, didn’t seem to have any ulterior motives for going out with him. They were going to have a good time, enjoy lunch together, probably get stared at, and that would be the end of it. No boyfriends involved.

The Flash waits outside a small Indian restaurant (friendly to imPorts, of course – he had helped them out once when a couple of kids decided to try to rob the joint) and tries to look relaxed. He got there a touch early and he has never been particularly patient with waiting.

"Yeah?" Wally eased into his seat and opened up his menu. He had to keep the conversation going since it was a date, so he found a subject and went with it.

"Where's Hekesville?

[redshifting]

"Hmm," she looked thoughtful for a moment. "Well, it floats around the World Pillar. I guess it seemed about halfway up, but I don't actually know how tall it is so there's no way to really tell."

[centralsgreatest]

"Oh. Huh." He had no idea what any of that mean, and he was quickly deciding that it wasn't worth the trouble to try to figure it out.

"So you have no clue at all how you got your powers?"

[redshifting]

She shakes her head. "I don't have a clue about much of anything, really. I don't remember a thing before a few months ago when I woke up in Hekesville."

"But I met Dusty, and poof! Gravity shifting."

[centralsgreatest]

Right, that was why she didn't know how old she was. He's dating an amnesiac. For some reason that feels skeevier than dating someone ten years younger than him. Good thing he's such a good guy.

"I'm sorry, that must be... weird."

[redshifting]

"It doesn't really bother me, though!" She assures him. "I mean, it kind of... did, for a while, at first. But even if I don't know who I used to be, I know who I am now, and I have plenty of friends. So I try not to let it get to me."

A pause. "Though actually I kind of think I might maybe be a queen of someplace?"

[centralsgreatest]

"A queen, huh?" Wally grinned. Joking around was something he was much more at ease with. "Well, your majesty, I'm honored that you would go out with me."

[redshifting]

That earns a sheepish, slightly nervous laugh from her. "Oh, that's... haha, I'm not even sure I'm really... it's just kind of a weird flashing sort-of-memory I have, but it might have been a dream, you know?"

[centralsgreatest]

"Heeey, don't be modest." It didn't really matter whether she was royalty or not. She was a nice girl, and there was no reason for her not to think she was a queen.

"You say you're a queen, you're a queen. Simple as that."

[redshifting]

"I guess it's mainly that I'm not sure," she says with a frown. "I just remember that there was a big palace thing. Or maybe it was a temple? And there was someone I saw standing from behind a really fancy outfit, and she had hair like mine."

A shrug. "But I'm not sure what it meant! Maybe I have a long-lost sister, too?"

[centralsgreatest]

"Could be," he mused. Maybe it was an out of body experience, or any of a number of other possibilities.

"You ever wanted siblings?"

[redshifting]

"Huh," she says thoughtfully, picking up a menu and tapping it against her chin. "You know, I never thought about it before. That I remember, anyway. I was kinda busy for the most part in Hekesville."

[centralsgreatest]

"I always wished I had a little sister," he confided with a small smile.

"I think I'd make a pretty good big brother, don't you?"

[redshifting]

Her expression brightens. "I'm not sure what a good brother is like, but yeah! You seem like the sort of guy who'd really be good at that sort of thing!"

[centralsgreatest]

"Hey, thanks!" He laughs, genuinely pleased despite the uncertainty of the compliment.

"You need help figuring out what to order?"

[redshifting]

"I... guess?" She looks unsure of herself. "I've never heard of any of this, so..."

[centralsgreatest]

"Well how spicy would you like your food?" There was a wide variety to choose from, but he would always pick curry for someone new to the kind of food.

[redshifting]

For a moment she thinks, and then smiles. "Let's go spicy! I've never had it before, so might as well try something hard, right?"

[centralsgreatest]

"Well in that case, you have to try the spicy curry. You'll love it." At least, if she liked curry and spicy things she would love it. There was always the chance neither of those things were true.

[redshifting]

"Great! I'll try that then!" Kat, at least, is up for something new, even if she's never tried it before. "So... what is it?"

[centralsgreatest]

"It's like... well there's rice, and there's this sauce, and there's some other stuff too." It was difficult to explain without the dish right in front of him.

"It's great."

[redshifting]

"Oh, great!" She couldn't really imagine anything more than the general idea from his suggestion, but she looked excited anyway. "I'm really looking forward to it!"

"What're you getting?"

[centralsgreatest]

"They have this spicy fish thing that I love," he informed her enthusiastically, scanning the menu for the item at super speed.

"Here it is, it's called Masala Machchi."

[redshifting]

"Oh that sounds good, too!" She was just very enthusiastic about the whole thing, really. "Can I have some? I don't know if I've ever tasted fish before."

[centralsgreatest]

"Yeah, sure!" He had to get more food later anyway, with his appetite. It wasn't that much of a sacrifice for a date.
