[Well that was embarrassing! Kenzi had, for a moment, forgot where she was and thought she was calling Bo. Instead she got Gil, talk about rude wake up to reality. She hung up quickly because she didn't want to explain she called because she thought she was calling Bo. God, she missed her best friend. Admitting it to people just made it hurt more.

At least that's over now, right? She won't have to explain anything.

She flops down on the couch with some chips and starts flipping through the channels. She just wants to find something boring to watch and fall asleep now.]

I bet. How'd you get back?

[ Donna's image flashes through his mind.

He misses Donna. ]

Miss Donna... a friend. She could fly, so she came to fetch me.

That's...a long way to fly. [Just flying to work on some days is tiring for Kenzi. She couldn't imagine flying to New Zealand and back.]

We stopped every now and then. [ But he nods; it had been a long flight back to the City. ] She was... an Amazon, as she said. She was powerful, I suppose.

Was? She's gone now I take it? [She's curious about the Amazon thing too but she can hold that question in.]

[ His expression falters. ]

... Yes. For a long time now.

Ah, I'm sorry. [Kenzi's been lucky in that she hasn't had anyone close to her leave yet.]

So was she like really tall? Because that's how Amazons are always described. [Of course, compared to Kenzi everyone's pretty tall.]

Really? She was like any other woman... her sister is tall, however. [ It's kind of strange to look up at a woman... ]

Huh. Always figured they were all really tall. [She's never met an Amazon back home so she doesn't have anything to compare to as is.]

You have them in your world?

Probably. I've never met one but if they exist in myth they're probably real.

[Kenzi lets out a yawn then stretches.]

Maybe you'll meet Miss Diana here. She lives with Zatanna and um, Zatanna's... boyfriend.

I talked to her once. It's been months now. Back when they got that giant puppy.

[ A beat. ]

I'd forgotten they had that dog. She has too many animals.

Define too many? Because I don't think it's too many unless you have a zoo.

She has a cat and some rabbits, I think. That's too much fur being shed around the house.

Throw in some birds, a snake, and hamster and then it's too many. Then again you'd think between the cat and the snake they'd take care of that. [Kenzi, how does your mind even work?]

Who keeps a snake?

Some people like them as pets I guess. Can't see why, they're all scaly and gross.

And poisonous, aren't they?

Depends on the type of snake.

[Kenzi yawns again before slumping onto the table.]

You're tired. You should lay back down in bed. [ A table is not the place to rest. ]

Mmn, yeah. You're right. [She stands and stretches before looking over at him.]

Are you gonna stay or go home?

I should probably head home. [ The lights are still on... ] You need to get some rest.

[She frowns but nods.]
