[It translates roughly into the "storm lover", something you might pick up on if you're exposed to lower cant. And that's a fairly accurate description of this Gottala: the Xes Ther is smaller and swifter than your average city-ship, keeping never more than 374 individuals aboard. Its housing is clean but minimalistic, its gardens have no decorative value: only essential nutrients are grown. There is a heavier reliance on fishing upon this Gottala, and no sight of field-fed livestock that is common on others. No beef, no poultry, no pork.

Just fish.

And sprawls of laboratories.

Laboratories that connect like honeycombs: they octagon sprawl into each other, forming larger segments of the same structure. And in these labs? Storms are made. Or, more precisely: the effects of weather patterns are mimicked and induced. Xes Ther is a craftsman city-ship, and all of its members contribute to creating, controlling and selling weather-born energy.]

The first chance he'd gotten, Kang had gotten the hell off of Jelebellios and headed for Xes Ther. He'd had a few of the locals try to talk to him and not understood more than a handful of words from it (he was slowly picking up the language) after getting a meal that didn't require physical affection of any kind to obtain, and currently, he was standing outside the window of one of the labs; he watched as lightning arced from a cloud and struck a metal pole, and said something to himself in Nerakese, only vaguely aware of any others that might be nearby.

Kate looks worse for wear. The decontamination was exhausting and long and by the time she was let go of, all she had to "show" for it was an ugly jumpsuit. While she's got something on her back to wear, she's not exactly the happiest camper.

Still, now that she's gotten off one ship, she needs to see what else is around. She hasn't been able to pin where she is yet.

She spots Kang not too far ahead and overhears him muttering in a different language after the lightning strikes. "imPort?" she calls, to make sure he really is one.

Kang recognized the woman immediately, and smiled at seeing someone familiar. "Kate, good to see you again. I wish it was under better circumstances, though."

Kang's human form was unknown to her, so she looked over puzzled by how familiar he was with her. She trusted her memory enough not to forget people of all things.

"Who are you?"

He could have sworn he'd talked to her once in his human form. Maybe not. His brow furrowed slightly, "You'd probably recognize me better with wings and scales." If that didn't jog her memory, his accent probably would.

It didn't take long and she nodded, already envisioning his draconian figure standing before her instead of his current one. Kate came forward and rubbed her face, shoulders aching with exhaustion and tension.

"Kang," she sounded relieved. "Have you seen anyone else... any other imPorts?"

Easily dealt with!

"A handful, but not many. I was on... Jelebellios the last two days." The name was somewhat mangled. "I'm glad to be away from that one."

[gevurah]

She shook her head, hands dropping to her sides. "Jelebellios? Was it a ship like this one?"

So far, it seemed they weren't docking anywhere anytime soon.

[governorkang]

Kang grimaced. "A ship, yes. But not like this one. The currency there is, ah, physical affection. The people are very... open." It was definitely not a place for someone like him.

[gevurah]

It was her turn to make a face. "Glad I missed out." If she had been single, maybe. "What happened if you refused?"

[governorkang]

"You were called 'aedako' and thrown in jail," he said dryly. "I'm still surprised that didn't happen to me, with what little I could tolerate."

[gevurah]

She rubbed her puffy eyes again, almost tempted to punch herself wide awake. She was alert, but every now and then exhaustion was threatening to overtake her. Kate hadn't been this drained since her two year training around every hellhole in the world.

"What a nightmare," she huffed. "If it's anything like Metricog, we're not getting off this ship for another couple of days."

"Hopefully sooner rather than later," Kang muttered a curse. "You look exhausted."

[gevurah]

"I'm fine," she shook her head, trying to downplay it. "... but I'll feel a bit better once we get off this ship and back to the City."

Always an odd thing to say, but she would rather be there or back in Gotham than here.

[governorkang]

He gave her a look that said that he clearly wasn't buying it, but didn't press further. "Never thought I'd want to be back there."

[gevurah]

"Don't think the Porter will let us off that easy." She huffed, expression darkened at the thought.

"She never does," Kang said dryly. "Do you think Skrulls are involved again?"

[gevurah]

"I haven't heard anything about them." She looked around again, wary at the thought of it. The last time the Skrull she encountered surprised her from seemingly out of nowhere. Well, the Mayor.

"We can't understand most of what they're saying, so that doesn't guarantee anything. I haven't run into many others from the City, either."
