SUMMARY: Kenzi is out shopping for Kang's hatching day party and runs into Gil, possibly literally.
FORMAT: Quick

[It's just a few days until Kang's party and Kenzi wants everything to be perfect. She almost has everything needed but there's still a few more things to get. So she's out doing that. She's not paying much attention to the cart she's pushing as she pours over the shelf. Food stuff isn't a big issue for the party, same with alcohol, but she did want some decorations.]

Hmm, Tiki lights are always a must... [She muses as she moves along, eyes focused on the shelf and not where her cart is going.]

Yup. [They're even then. But to be fair, it seems just about anyone can learn magic if they want.]

Kind of. It involves a piece of silk cloth, real silk not some fake shit, a little bit of a blood, and some words. [She looks over the shelves as she speaks, only occasionally glancing at Gil.]

[ He should be paying more attention to the bottles, but he's focused on the current subject. ]

Have you ever done it before?

A few times. It leaves me really dizzy after. [Trick didn't explain why that happened so she just assumes it's a normal side effect.]

[ He finally looks at the shelves and the rows of bottles all around them. Damn, what a selection. ]

Would he prefer a wine?

He'll like it but he prefers ales and harder stuff. Oh! [She grabs a bottle of mead off the shelf.] I got him some like this a while back and he really liked it. It's not as strong as vodka or anything but it's still good. Stronger than wine for sure.

[ He picks up a similar bottle. It's heavy, but very fancy looking. ]

I guess this will do, then.

Well, that was easy. [Kenzi put the bottle she was holding back and grabbed a different flavor off the shelf, for herself of course.] I guess we can go check out then.

This is alright, isn't it? [ He holds up the bottle for her to see. ] I don't know much about alcohol, honestly...

[She nods and smiles.] He'll enjoy it.

[She takes one more look at the bottle in her hand before turning to head to the register. She checks out, grabbing a bag of beef jerky before doing so, then waits for Gil.]

[ He does what he needs to at the cash register: ID, payment, and a nice little bag to go with the bottle and he's out of the store and by Kenzi's side again. He peers into the bag for a second. ]

Thanks for this, by the way.

No problem. Do you need help wrapping it up? I've got a box that would be the perfect size so he can't tell it's a bottle. [She pushes the door open and looks around for a cab once they're on the sidewalk.]

[ He thinks about it for a moment. ]

It is a surprise party... so the gifts should be a surprise, too, huh. [ He nods. ] Alright.

Everyone prefers their gifts to be surprises even when the party isn't.

[Not seeing an cabs to call over Kenzi starts walking.]

That's true. [ He guesses. He shrugs and then looks up the road and frowns. ] No cabs on this street? [ And he can't see any down the street either. ]

Doesn't look it. [She frowns as well.] Well, we should see some before we ever get close to the apartment.

At least the weather is much nicer these days. [ Hotter, but it's his fault for wearing a coat out, even if it's a light one. ] We could call one for service, can't we?

Yeah. [Kenzi hates the heat even more than the cold.] Do you have the number or see it up anywhere. [She glances around trying to find a bench.] I never bothered to program it into my phone. Guess I could google it.

Neither have I -- oh. [ As if on cue, from a distance he spots yellow and it's coming down the street. With traffic the way it is, it may take a couple of minutes. Might as well try to intercept it halfway. ]
