I don't know why you're such a troublemaker
WHO: Helena & Jason
WHERE: Superjail
WHEN: Monday
WARNINGS: Nope
SUMMARY: Jason's lawyer pays him a visit.
FORMAT: Quick? IDK.
[Between Jason's impending court dates and Damian's recent port out, there is much for the remaining Wayne siblings to discuss. Helena arrives bright and early for her visit, sitting quietly as she waits for the guards to escort Jason in.
It's an odd position to be in. Jason is dangerous, Helena knows that full well. But she hasn't given up the idea that he can be a good man, or even a hero. She can't give up that thought, not until she's been proven 100% wrong, no matter what anyone else says. But perhaps she's just too optimistic.
Idly, she reaches into the briefcase on the floor by her feed and glances over the paperwork for Jason's appeal.]

She really does look like Bruce. It's already putting him in an unpleasant mood.]

[Helena doesn't even look up from her paperwork. She arches an eyebrow before deliberately setting the papers aside and settling in for what was certain to be a very taxing conversation.]
We have a lot to discuss so I hope you're ready to settle some business.
no subject
[He'd been ready to know on the network, but that was neither here nor there, and Helena always seemed to do things at just her own pace anyway. He mimics her expression, raising an eyebrow right back.]

[Theatrical or not, the Waynes were a private people, and Helena most of all dislikes unwanted attention.]
I'm sorry this isn't the most uplifting news to be receiving.
no subject
[Not that it particularly matters when he's stuck in here.]
How're you doing?
no subject
[She looks down, uncomfortable all of a sudden. Is she so easy to read that Jason can tell how shaken she really is?]
Poorly, if I'm being honest.
no subject
[Jason doesn't know quite how to comfort her or if he even wants to bother. For starters, this is about Damian, and his opinion on the kid is um... Cautious at best. But more than that, he doesn't really know Helena enough to know how or why she even cares. To him, this is just another person with a vague family connection leaving.]
So that's it?

No. You have a court appearance scheduled. I've been able to work out a plea bargain. Time served plus sixty hours of community service, if you take a firearms safety course and plead to illegal discharge.
no subject
... Does the City really want to teach me how to use a gun? Ladies and gentlemen, your tax dollars at work.
no subject
So? Tell me what to do. I'm advising you to take the plea, but I can't make this choice for you.
no subject
Tell them I'll do it. I'll even teach the damn class if it gets me out of here.
no subject
I'll put in the paperwork right away. You could be out before your birthday.
no subject
[Holy bureaucracy, Batman.]
no subject
[He never seemed to care before.]
