(and i said what about breakfast at tiffany's)
WHO: emotionally constipated man child
ioudas and someone fed up with him
gevruah
WHERE: Some breakfast place.
WHEN: LAST WEEK sometime
WARNINGS: Cross Marian
SUMMARY: cross, after a late night binge, has to learn to grow up.
FORMAT: quick!
(maybe it was best that he didn't meet kate to apologize about being drunk absolutely hungover. sadly for him, it was the only thing that seemed to help the dull ache on the side of his face, and actually forget what was happening back home.
unfortunately, leave the devil to his vices in an open city like this was bound to cause trouble. it was strange, now the idea that he couldn't just pick up and leave his problems behind wasn't possible, he had to actually face them.
which in turn made him want to drink even more. maybe hank was right and he had a problem, but hank hadn't experienced what he had and really, he could fuck off. unfair, but still, fuck off. kate was probably one of the last people in the city that he wanted to actually be around, one of the reasons why he wanted to fix this up so badly.
or, old dogs can't learn new tricks. coffee in one hand, idly eating something (promptly eaten by timcampy) he waited.)

She hadn't meant to show up this late, but it had been a long couple of weeks with Red Death and investigating the murders at the Iceberg Lounge. She walked through the entrance of the designated breakfast shop, sunglasses on and made her way to Cross' table, though she paused when she got to the table. ]
'Morning.

he'd get up to kiss her on the cheek, but he figured that he shouldn't push his luck.)
Good morning. And how are you today?

Tired, but fine. [ It's too early to feel much yet. At least most of her aggression had been exhausted for some hours thanks to some petty thieves the night before. ]
Anyway.
Here I am.
[ She'd rather cut the small talk. ]

Hrgh- (an unceremonious groan.)
Like I told you, shouldn't have. (texted you in that state, but really I'm always in that state but I won't text you when I'm like that anymore. but, those are words for adults.) Texted you.

[ And there's no changing that now. She uses her index finger to rub Tim softly. He's like a cat, she thinks. ]

(he finally says, shrugging his shoulders.) It's been an odd month.
