WHO: Astral, Yako Katsuragi
WHERE: New Vesuvius, Guggenheim Museum
WHEN: JUNE 28
WARNINGS: Will edit as necessary.
SUMMARY: This is crazy, but here's my Number.
FORMAT: quick
[Astral was both exhausted and anxious. New Vesuvius wore on him terribly. But being able to meet up with a friend like Yako was a bit of a relief. Though he's not certain if they're friends just yet? Maybe they're still just acquaintances. Human relationship levels confuse him far too much.
The reason for their meeting was part of why he's anxious. He paced about the area, arms close to his chest. Every so often he'd glance around, seeing if she was nearby. She should be here soon. There were a lot of people around, though... What if she was held up by one of the aides running around?
Mm. His other self Numbers, his memories, remained in this world. And Yako found them. Astral knew they were capable of "out living" him, but he didn't consider that would end up in his possession. Perhaps they could provide some answers to this whole mess. If there was somebody he could trust, it was himself. ... Kind of.
When he finally saw her coming, he immediately went to greet her. He was flighty, and already pulling on his shirt sleeve yet again.] Hello, Yako.

Despite how exhausting yesterday was, she hadn't felt much need to rest. Operating in a crisis was what Yako did best, after all, and if this wasn't a crisis, she's not certain what else would count as one. She looked docile and harmless as she walked through the halls, perfectly self-assured, ready with an excuse should she be stopped and questioned.
Only her eyes -- and the way they roved, never pausing -- gave her racing thoughts away. When she saw Astral, something relaxed in the set of her shoulders, and she offered him a soft nod and a smile, carefully looking him over.
She'd seen the records, after all. She had some idea of the kind of things Astral might have been exposed to. ]
Hello, Astral. [ Her eyes automatically checked for security cameras and anyone else watching, and she kept her voice low. For the moment, it seemed they were unnoticed -- no one had, as yet, come looking for a stray member of Caste A -- so it seemed safe enough to slip a hand into her pocket, drawing a small paper envelope out.
Taking out all of those cards would have been suspicious, so in the end she'd only taken one. She holds the envelope out to him, a touch of uncertainty crossing her expression. ]
Perhaps you'd better hold onto this until later.

It was just a card. Hopefully, you'll be able to make more sense of it than I did. [ It was, after all, in the possession of his other self -- if there's anything to learn from it, Astral will probably know what it is. ]

There were ten of them in total. Do you think that's significant?

Some of the illustrations on those cards had seemed oddly sinister, but she's no expert at card games, really. ]

Did you lose the others?
