people like you find it easy

WHO: Terry, Carrie, and the ever-helpful Dr. Delilah Vanderbilt
WHERE: NYU campus.
WHEN: today!!!!!!!!
WARNINGS: naw
SUMMARY: some interrogatinz goin down
FORMAT: quick! which starts as prose because who wants to squint at that much tiny text.

It hadn't been that hard to dig up the info, not really. The difficult part had been in sorting through all the potentials. All the professors and scientists and doctors who were just professors and scientists and doctors, and had never heard of any of this stuff beyond stories on the news. But a name had come up repeatedly, Dr Vanderbilt. A little digging had brought up a whole lot of well-funded fringe research, the sort of which, as far as Carrie knew, was generally not exactly a high-ranked priority.

So, she'd opted for a visit. She'd even agreed to bring Terry, doubting very much that there'd be any danger to it. Besides, if she's right and this woman is actually someone of interest... well, it couldn't hurt to have a fear demon on hand. Her own interrogation methods are only so effective.

Carrie is currently crouched outside the woman's office window, dressed in all black and fully geared up, with everything she'd brought from home and everything she'd gathered here. It's evening, and her suit blends in with the growing shadows. She'd made Terry wait inside, in the hallway -- she'll let him in soon, but only after her own introduction. She tells herself that's in the interest of stealth and his safety, not selfish excitement.

Definitely not.

She cracks the window open and slips in.
waiting: (you're gonna have to face it)

[ Delilah Vanderbilt doesn't look like much -- with her trim frame and neatly arranged hair, she seems more like someone's mother than someone who might have questionable dealings with a known terrorist group.

She also seems fairly popular -- it seems there's hardly a time when she's not having a consultation with a student about their academic papers, or teaching a class. At this particular moment, she's finally unoccupied. While she doesn't collapse into her chair (far too much poise and dignity for that, and needless theatrics are a waste of energy) she seems to carry less of her usual animation, and she pulls her glasses off to absently wipe them clean with a small cloth.

For a fairly intelligent woman, she has the devil's own time keeping track of her schedule. She's trying to remember whether or not she had any last-minute meetings scheduled for this evening, or if she's free to return home. ]
waiting: (from who you can)

disappointing, I know!!

[ Having been caught reaching for her coffee tumbler, there's a rather inelegant moment where Dr. Vanderbilt has to scramble to keep it from overturning when her jerk of surprise nearly knocks it over. Warily scanning the room, she clutches the drink holder a bit like she intends to throw it at the first sign of danger -- or possibly to beat someone over the head. ]

Who's there?
