[In the process of moving, Davesprite had quickly realized that his material possessions were few. Obviously, the only way to fix that was a bit of retail therapy in the music shop and beyond. What he ends up coming home with is a new camera on his neck (taking to heart Rose's suggestion of picking up photography in his spare time) and an incredible set of DJ headphones, sitting over the camera strap around his neck.

Hopefully nobody at home would ask him how much he spent. Not to say he didn't have the cash, since he hadn't spent a single dime since his arrival outside of recent billpaying, but it'd certainly be an awkward conversation.

He'd gone for a walk through the park and was en route back to his new home, the usual small flock of pigeons and crows following above him. He'd wrangled control of the power for the most part, but it was clear (to him, at least) that it was never meant to be something he had control over. It was just an aura. Luckily, they usually flew high enough that he wouldn't risk bringing them inside any buildings. He's certain he'd wear out his welcome quickly if that misfortune ever fell upon his new roommates.]

[ But hello, what is this new birdy friend following after him? For one, it doesn't look like the rest. This one is a raven and get this: it's sporting a bling necklace around it's neck.

It's red and black. Huh, who else wears those colors... ]

[He only notices the raven because its closer to him that the flock, enough to make him pause and frown at it. Dave notices the necklace alright -- the bird itself reminds him of Vladimir, only much smaller.

So he holds his arm out to invite it closer, and to give it a place to perch.]

Y'know my house has too many pets as is.

[ Heck yeah, grade A perching going on right here. It'll nestle in and get comfortable long enough for the scene to be ruined by: ]

Ufufu! I knew I'd find you here! [ What's scarier: a bedazzled raven or the fact Rin was hunting him down? ]

[Davesprite startles impressively, jumping backwards and shaking his arm to try and get the bird to fly away. His shades slip to reveal wide red eyes, but he's quick to both catch them before they fall off his face and straighten his spine.

It doesn't wipe away the frown though.]

Uh.

[Lets go with both.]

[ As if her raven is gonna leave anytime soon. It's digging in with its talons to stay firmly attached. What's noticeable is its ability to be firm, yet gentle, almost as if it had been trained roughly by someone else who flails around. ]

I heard someone left that you knew.

[Sweet mother of--]

Jake? You're stalking me over Jake English? Are you for real right now?

Don't claim me of being a stalker so loudly!

[ Not that she's denying it or anything... ] Yes, I thought you needed someone to unload some more of that mental crap onto now that he's gone. When I'm bored, I need someone else to talk to kind of fill the air. You know like white noise?

So start talking until I finally have my concentration back.

No? Jake and I didn't even talk.

[Davesprite drops his arm so the raven will be hanging sideways unless it opts to move. He ignores the comment about white noise -- she's not wrong.]

What exactly are you trying to do?

[ Said raven will let go of his arm and go straight for his shoulder instead. ]

Recall things from the other worlds I visited. Archer was able to tell me some of it, but since it has been a few months since then, I'm hoping to jog my memory a bit.

... Hm, but really? You two never spoke?

No. I'm not even sure how you knew that I knew him? Like even vaguely.

[He peers over his glasses at the raven.]

You didn't tell me you could shapeshift.

Don't you all know each other? Kanaya wouldn't have mentioned it, but hm...

[ Is the raven giving a judgmental peer in return? ] If I could shapeshift, would I really waste my time being a raven? Well, I do have an object that will allow me to if I desired...

[ But then she'd be a cute bunny. ]

Well yeah, but its complicated. I know a lot of people.

That's why I'm asking. Why a bird?

[He reaches up to grab a hold of the gem. He looks like he's gonna try and take it off the bird.]

[ Her bird is surprisingly Cool with it for now. ]

Do you really? I thought you were some kind of loser. [ Also not answering why a bird. ]

[He is obviously trying to figure out what this thing is -- if this is how she's communicating. He doesn't get it.]

Complicated. C-o-m-p-licated.

[ The gem has a neat sticky background to it and looks cheap up close. Probably some kind of costume jewelry. Her raven isn't too pleased with his inspection, but so long as he returns the shiny... ]

So your relationship with that guy is complicated? Like is it levels of complication of the one person we spoke about or a completely different level? I'm really trying to follow, but I've never had to concern myself with the social status of a loser before...

[Davesprite sighs and lets his hand drop. The birds might be fighting over this shiny later. He'll keep it in his fist for now, talking to the air.]

Jake is Jade's grandson and also her genetic father. Kind of like how Rose and I are siblings and Roxy was our genetic mother, but also Rose was her mother. And then you have John who is also Jade's brother via Jake and Jane, who I don't think you've met yet?

[A pause.]

That kind of complicated.

[ The raven will take it upon itself to try to peck at his sunglasses in retaliation. A shiny for a shiny or possibly Rin just being annoying. ]

... bwuh? [ How does that even happen? ]

Did you guys mess with the Second Magic or something?

[Rude. He mumbles and reaches up to hold its beak shut.]

Ectobiology. Doesn't totally apply to me since I'm a sprite, but I had beginnings too.

[ Much like Rin, the raven isn't very good at keeping it's beak shut. It'll peck towards his fingers threateningly, but still the voice comes through strong. ]

Ugh--I don't really understand all of that, but I'm afraid if I ask you to start talking about it, you'll do it on the form of a rap song or something.

[ Pausing thoughtfully. ] So this John person is Jade's brother with Jake and Jane... Okay, I think I can follow that at least.

[He winces a little and lets go, rolling his shoulder to try and force it off.]

Jane's his Grandmother too. Did I leave that out? Also, did you have to pick a raven of all birds?

How do you know that raven belongs to me? Maybe it has always been a deep desire of your's to hear my voice out of thin air.

[ Because it just REEKS of Tohsaka and also sounds like her. Not that she's paying much attention to that as the raven digs in to fabric threateningly. ] And yes, yes you did. It sounds as if the world you're from is very confusing and very into keeping bloodlines legitimate.

My own world is sort of like that or at least a small fraction of it is devoted to that kind of archaic behavior.

I don't know. It ain't so bad -- we're all like weird test tube babies? People seem to be ok if I talk about it like that.

["Ok" he says.]

And I know its your's because you didn't start talking until it showed up.

[He...won't comment on that deep desire part, until he gets a thought.]

Dunno Tohsaka. You or your pet seems pretty fuckin' comfy.

H-H-Hey! What are you even implying with that kind of thing?!

[ The raven puffs out a chest in defiance. Look at those beautiful black feathers. Don't you just want to preen them lovingly?! ]

Ugh--you're trying to distract me and I won't have any of it. [ Clearing her throat (obviously not the raven's). ] I doubt that's the truth, but if you say it is, then I have no choice other than to believe you. It'd be troublesome for me to accuse you of lying and then you prove me wrong right after out of pure luck, so I won't give you the chance.

I suppose you're right about one thing. That raven does belong to me. Came back with me from the other world and since then I've been interested in what has happened in the other ones. Right now I'm experimenting what I can do with it and this seems to be a pretty good use of my time.

[He reaches up and scratches the raven behind its neck, under its feathers. Its about as close to preening as one can get when you're only half bird.]

I ain't doing shit. I was on my way home, until you flew into my space.

[He's never been so thankful for this annoying power in his entire two years of being in the City.]

[ A happy raven is... probably a good raven? Who knows?? ]

Well it was drawn to you and refused to listen to me. Maybe you shouldn't be attracting my raven when I'm out doing my own business.

Now you're blaming your attraction to me on the bird? Come on Tohsaka, nobody's even here to hear you confess.

[ That's to tsunven. As in the raven is pretty damn tsundere right now. ]

What if they're doing the same thing that I'm doing right now?!

AND WHAT MAKES YOU THINK I'M GOING TO CONFESS ANYTHING?!

[This is too much. She's so easy to rile. He'll just keep up the neck scritches.]

Brosis, its ok, I understand. Its like basic natural instinct, whether you're a bird or not.

[ The raven will try to peck at his fingers now. ]

[It doesn't deter him. He'll smooth its feathers back over and stop the scritching for the moment, at least.]

Maybe if you picked a bird of prey instead of an omnivorous scavenger.

I didn't pick this one exactly. It came back with me.

[ Which shouldn't seem possible, but it was a thing that happened. ] Probably one of the ones I fought against while transformed into a raven myself.

[Loud. Annoying. In his business. Yup. Sounds like Rin.]

Are you saying that because it's black? [ Completely missing his insult towards her. ]

[ It flip flops between brown and black between multiple series???? ]

Oh. Yeah, I guess, but I more meant because you get loud and annoying when you're mad.

[He takes a second to put the necklace back on the bird.]

I do not get loud or annoying when I'm mad!

[ Proving that point the best she can through a raven.

... But wait, there's more! In fact, it sounds as if it's in stereo now?! ]

[He flinches a little and holds his head, but he's smirking. He won't push the issue and risk himself a headache.]

So did you actually want something from me aside from my devilish charm?

[ There's a looming shadow behind him as Rin raises her fist while 'sneaking' up on him. ]

There's nothing charming about you!

You're trippin', Tohsaka. You're still hanging around afte--

[He sees that shadow. No way is he letting himself be choked tonight. Instinctively he jumps a few feet forward and spins on his heels, hands spread in case he needs to shift and fly off.]

[ A little bit of choking might do him some good. She misses and turns around on her heels for round two.

Meanwhile the raven never gets involved in this. ]

Around what?!

[This smile shows teeth. Ok so shapeshifting wasn't involved. But...]

Still hangin' around me. Look, I even got you to come over and say "Hey" in the flesh.

I didn't do this because I liked you!

[ Though judging by the looks the pair are getting, the assumption that it's a lovers quarrel might not be too strange to conjure. ]

I was just bored and testing out my new... [ Sulking a bit as she doesn't want it publicly known she's an imPort even though she's talking to the weirdo here. ] Running shoes.
