[Over the years, Rikku has acquired a rather large amount of bits and pieces of machina. And, having all of those, she is bound to experiment now and then. Today, it's a miniature airship; though she's had the blueprints for a full-scale size model sitting around for a while, this is the first time she's made an attempt at building anything even close.

Rigging up a remote control had been easy enough, but building a miniature engine that didn't run on chocobo power had been a little more difficult. She's standing on a sidewalk, lips pressed together with concentration as she tries to navigate around some tree branches. She is only mildly successful.]

[Sanji is on his way back from a trip to the market, with the woefully sad small bag of groceries indicative of a man cooking for one. It's kind of a sad time of year, it's the anniversary of his first arrival in the City and he's realizing how few friends from that time he has left.

But look! There's one now! Chance encounters are the best encounters, it perks him up immediately]

Miss Rikku! Hiiiiii!

[Rikku actively tries not to think about how many friends she's lost since she came to the City. That just hurts, and she really isn't a person who's good at handling being hurt. But hearing Sanji's voice, cheerful as ever, makes her grin and turn her body towards him, though her eyes stay locked on the miniature airship. She'd die before she let it crash.]

Hey, you! Long time no see.

Yeah, I know. I...what have you got there?

[his eyes follow her gaze to spot the airship. Well that's not something you see every day, unless you stalk the helicopter guys in the mall]

Let me guess, something you built?

[klutziness]

[Very carefully, she maneuvers the ship towards them and manages to land it gently enough. She laughs.]

You betcha! I've been meaning to for years, but I happen to have a little more free time nowadays, so I figured, why not?

[he steps a little closer to peer at it, though he's careful not to step on it. She'd kill him!]

It's impressive. And cute! It's a nice toy, eh?

[She crouches down beside it, gathering the little ship up in her hands.]

You should see it full size. I mean, it's amazing!

Full size? What do you mean?

[oh good now he can really peer at it. He might not have the ZOMG LAZERS reaction of certain crewmates, but Sanji is rather impressed by the craftsmanship of such a tiny thing.]

Usually, it's bigger than a commercial airplane.

Really? So this is a model, then. Was it a ship you built, or just saw?

My brother and I built it together.

Your brother, huh? Wow. There's so much I don't know about you, yet, Miss Rikku. I've been woefully behind on being a good friend.

Naw, it just isn't something I talk about a lot, I guess. My brother and I don't really get along all the time.

Aw, that's a shame. Brothers can be useful, or so I've heard.
